$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('TWilliam', '')$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('roccman', 'H')ey - do you think there is any correlation between intelligence and the use of foul language.

Of course there is. The idiot 'homies' cuss because they think it makes them seem 'tough' or 'cool' and they're too stupid to know any better. The more intelligent generally cuss to emphasize a point but rarely do so to excess. They also generally know when it's best to refrain from strong language (such as when teaching a middle-school English class or when in traffic in L.A.).

Compare Eddie Murphy's classic stand-up with George Carlin's, for example. Not saying Murphy's necessarily stupid, but consider the different demographics to which each appeal...

I am guessing idiot 'homies" make up a smaller percentage than the "intelligent"...

Ummmmmmmmmmm...

so why are we in overshoot Twilliams?

Or is it all just smoke and mirrors?

Well... my comment was at least partly tongue-in-cheek. Sorry, hadn't had my coffee yet this AM before I posted it, so I neglected any emoticon clues...

But yea, they're presently a minority, at least compared to the average. I'm referring of course to the types where a standard opening line is usually some variation on "Yo, motherf#*ker, what's yo' punk b*tch sorry motherf#*kin' @ss doin' around here?" That's a bit different than J6P who might cuss like a truck driver when he gets pissed but otherwise only drops the occasional 4-letter-word in casual conversation, perhaps with increasing frequency as the number of Budweisers consumed rises.

As far as why we're in overshoot, that's easy; only 10% are on the leading edge of the curve. Or to put it another way: I continue to hold forth the assertion that evolution doesn't support intelligent self-awareness, as has been repeatedly confirmed by the observation from various social sciences that birth rate declines as level of education rises. Simply put, the stupid ones out-breed the smart ones...

But then, you know all of this...
