Problems accessing EnergyBulletin.net ?

Unread postby adam » Fri 25 Feb 2005, 02:17:03

We've had several reports from people who cannot access www.EnergyBulletin.net from their local ISP. At this stage (forgive the geek speak) it seems like there may be problem with some DNS servers, although not our own. Of course we probably never hear from most people who cannot access the site so we are not sure how widespread the problem is.

If you've had problems accessing EnergyBulletin.net, or you've never been to the site, could you please go attempt to access www.EnergyBulletin.net , and come back and report the exact error message (if any) you receive, either as comments or as email. Where you are, and the name of your ISP would also help a great deal.

Many thanks,

Adam,

I think the second URL you gave in your passage had a typo:
http://www.energybulletin.net,/ (notice the comma at the end)

When I remove the comma or if I use the first URL you gave, I can get in:
http://www.energybulletin.net/

I can also get in with:
http://energybulletin.net/ or http://energybulletin.net/news.php

What are you running? If it's Windows click start then "run" then type in "cmd"

If you do not get a black terminal window then try "command" not "cmd" and consider getting a newer version of Windows or something.

In the black terminal window type

nslookup www.energybulletin.net

(don't forget to press [Enter] at the end of that command)

and if you don't get any errors then the problem is not on your side otherwise it is.

Also

http://www.energybulletin.net/

vs.

http://energybulletin.net/

might be your issue.

for me it depends on what computer I use to access www.energybulletin.net.

At work it doesn't work. At the local library it doesn't work.

It does work at home and at the local university campus.

goofy website.

I've had problems for over a month. Now I can get there. I get a DNS server error when I cannot. I emailed the host server.

I am the systems admin for the server that energybulletin.net is hosted on. Thank you for alerting me to this issue, I am currently looking into it so there is no need to send any more messages to brunny.com. However If you continue to post debug information from nslookup, etc that would be useful.
