$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('ColossalContrarian', ' ')I'm just saying that bad cops are cops who allow their emotions to get involved in their job.
Yep it's tough but it's part of the job.

That is a valid point. But the world is made of people, imperfect people. I wouldn't so much call it kissing a cop's ass as recognizing than that it just isn't smart to disrespect them. Bad cops are the ones who engage in criminal behavior behind the badge. They exist, unfortunately. Hell, there was a story here in San Diego of a middle school principal who was selling school equipment on the black market. When I was 18, I got busted for pot. In jail, there was a hippie who smirked. That's it, he smirked. He got the crap beaten out of him for smirking. I could see that this short, stocky little deputy had a hard on for him. The world is evil, so don't push it, for now.

Yes, there is information lacking in this story. But jumping to the conclusion that the guy who was arrested was in the wrong is wrongheaded. Emily was a psychology professor at a major university. She was travelling home from her employ one night and was on a mountain road. A driver without lights on was tailing her and began to bump her with his bumper. She sped up and the lights went on: the sheriff. She didn't protest with the officer, but went to court where the judge upheld the ticket. Police have tough jobs, but they also have lots of power which some officers abuse every day. I've seen admirable behavior and despicable behavior from police. Facts are important.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'W')hat kind of country do we live in where you can’t challenge LEO? Have you heard of the Bill of Rights?

I suggest you challenge the LEO in court, not on the street. File a complaint and/or civil suit if you desire.
