Ok, how many other Magic: The Gathering geeks are peak oilers? Come on, don't be shy now, speak up....
I am. Don't have the time or money to play anymore, but I used to be into it heavy. States championships, PTQ's, regionals, the works. I sold all my expensive cards when I stopped playing. I also recently sold the brunt of my comic collection, but I continue to pick up a few titles that I really enjoy. I had the entire collection of Ultimate Spider Man from issue #1 all the way up to the then current. And the first few issues were signed by the writer!
I sold them on eBay a month and a half ago. The money went to buying gold and silver coins.
Yes, I would advise you to sell it all. Comic books, magic cards... all of it. They're going to be useless. My rational for spending so much money on the comics to begin with was that they would retain, if not gain value over time, and that I could always recoup my money by selling them. I don't believe that will be true in the future. When the $#%^ hits the fan, the value of all our fancy toys and other unneccesay items will be hit hardest. Precious metals may not be the best investment either, but I'm sure they'll be better that comic books.
You guys still reading any comics? Y: The Last Man, Supreme Power, and Ultimate Spider Man are the bomb. I'll continue buying them until the comic companies go out of business.
