Peak Oil from a Wiccan Perspective

Unread postby Homesteader » Fri 02 May 2008, 22:55:13

Well, I wanted to jump on the bandwagon and it was either Wicca or Nagualism. Heck everybody knows that Naguals were actually dinosaurs in a previous reincarnation and that is were the oil came from.

Wiccans actually have some neat ideas... but I thought you were serious (that you will write about Wiccans).

Nah, my wife is a christian, she would kill me.

In the past I investigated Wicca pretty deeply. Have talked in depth with Hindi's from India. Not met any Buddhists who were born to it yet. Looking forward to speaking with Muslims and orthodox christians in the Middle East later this year when we move there. Have met some Iranians whose family converted to Baha'i several generations ago. Participated in a firewalk some years ago and walked the coals three times. That was quite an experience.

For myself, I align with Grandfather in Tom Brown's book of the same name.

There is much that can be taken from the Wiccan religion. The respect and love for our Earth and the resources along with the effort of conservation, with things as recycling and such. The ideas of the gardens and natural healing could very well become useful . :)

Good Gods no, and that is why as a moderator I did not merge this thread into that one. However, *if* you read that other thread, the author DID include Wiccans on that one. If you want me to merge, I will. No biggie. What do you all think? I know that there is a vast difference between Heathens and Reconstructionist religionists vs. Wiccans and other NeoPagans. It's your call, however.

It would be like lumping all the Jewish, Christian, and Muslim threads together. I don't see a need. I'm more of a "splitter" than a "lumper," in general.

What she said. I was just making the distinction for those who might not know because someone said there was already a pagan thread.

But that brings up a question. How might a pagan or wiccans view of the present world situation differ? Or is that like asking how many colours can you see when an atom bomb vapourizes you?
