Making an afterlife would be fun, here is my idea

Heaven
You get to live in your own 500 square mile forest paradise (that you design from house to gardens to lakes and mountains). No flies or mosquito's would be there and you never experience hunger. Any food you eat would only be for the pleasure of it. You can also have guests visit your domain from time to time if you wish.

Hell
You arrive naked, and are caged in a zoo. Your only food is banana's.
People walk by all the time to see all the bad people in the zoo. If your sleeping they get buttons to push, one is for a air horn, and the other gives you an electric shock.

 That is all I can think of for now
We are the Borg. Resistance is futile. Your culture will adapt to service ours. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own.

A man has to be in his own heaven to be happy.

I suppose.

But, I'm a woman so I'm not that picky so long as my family is around and everyone is treating each other well.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'S')o, HEADER_RACK chose Valhalla; I suppose others would make the same choice. They could all hoist their horns of mead together.

Thats just the night time celebrating. Durning the day you get to go out into mortal combat an hack you buddies to pieces. Thats the real fun of it.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Tyler_JC', 'L')et's not kid ourselves here.

You and I are the 19th and 23rd most prolific posters on this forum. We've been posting for nearly 4 years with no apparent end in sight. Our post counts are well into the 4,000 range.

There's no way this isn't cutting into our normal human interactions.

Heck, alone for all eternity might not be a dramatic shift from the status quo.

So what? I gotta be a lonely computer nerd in the afterlife too? That sucks. Add in a land developer or two, and you described my idea of hell.

Okay, I'm game. :-D I love stuff like this, actually...hehe.

Yeah, if I could design my own heaven, so to speak, I would create a pristine planet...a lot like Earth, but with lower gravity, say .5 gee. It'd be full of towering mountains, raging rivers and exciting climate patterns. I'd have no major continents, either, as I want just about all land areas to get adequate rainfall (I hate deserts). Largest continent would be about the size of Antarctica, and would lie in the middle latitudes. I'd want to stock it with creatures such as dinosaurs and other mega-fauna, as well as super trees that grow to a 1000 feet tall, mega ferns 200 feet across, stuff like that.

As for me, I'd want to have a way to create whatever body I want, whenever I want...inhabiting the same ol' body would get old after a while...LOL. I'd want the power to be able to fly or teleport myself at will, and to create anything I want out of thin air, such as uber-cool glass houses perched on the side of a 20,000-foot tall cliff and houses that drift among the clouds. Generally just really cool stuff that's just not possible here on Earth due to those annoying laws of physics and whatnot.

Others are welcome to join me on this world, so long they don't interfere in whatever I wish to do...hehe. What the hell, it's my own fantasy planet, so I get to be absolute ruler of it, permanently. If anyone doesn't like this arrangement, I'll be more than happy to arrange passage to another locale...it is a big universe out there, after all. Anyone that does choose to be my guest on my "Byron's World" :P ...just keep in mind, it's all play and no work. Fun is the word of the day, every day, for all eternity.

So, Jack, I can't wait for you tell us of what your fantasy afterlife is...I can only imagine what it might entail...LOLOL.

OK,

Ignore everything I've previously written in this thread.

I'd prefer the flying around on top of clouds "Christian painting" afterlife.

Playing harps, singing songs, meeting famous people (it would be their hell but w/e), watching the world from above...

That would be fun.

Perfectly fine ideas....but keep in mind, you (and you alone) choose. No matter how one behaved in life, there is no Hell unless YOU choose to go there.

Any changes?

OK...my choice. 8)

I would like to be pure spirit, with the ability to see, hear, smell, and feel (taste too, I guess) - but completely invulnerable to harm.

Then I'd spend awhile exploring. I'd find out if there is a great, liquid methane sea on Jupiter, and experience a Jovian hurricane. I'd sit on the beaches of Titan, then surf the rings of Saturn.

After that...I'd go inside a globular cluster and look at the stars. That should be a sight! And maybe see what's at the center of the galaxy. Experience a supernova up close.

It's a big universe; it should take a good fraction of eternity to see the sights.

And yes, it might be fun to have someone to discuss the cosmic scenery with. Or maybe to comment on sunrises on worlds as yet unnamed.

For those expecting machine guns and bunkers....sorry to disappoint! 8)

I´m suprised none picked up yet the islamic heaven, it looks like a nice place :)

Koran 78:31
As for the righteous, they shall surely triumph. Theirs shall be gardens and vineyards, and high- bosomed virgins for companions: a truly overflowing cup.

Koran 22:23
As for those who have faith and who do good work, God will admit them to gardens watered by running streams..

Koran 56:7-40
They shall recline on jewelled couches face to face, and there shalt wait on them immortal youths with bowls and ewers and a cup of purest wine

Koran 22:23
As for those who have faith and who do good work, God will admit them to gardens watered by running streams. They shall be decked with pearls and bracelets of gold, and arrayed in garments of silk.

Cross between Rocky Mountain Front Range and Coastal B.C. 20,000 years ago, and 4-5 like companions. Basic comforts to make life comfortable but not to easy. No frigging time devices. Roaming and exploring, living with the seasons.

Not that exploring distant nebula doesn't have its attractions.

I'll play... I would like a situation where I'd live in a very realistic simulation (I wouldn't want to know it was simulation) as a brilliant, wealthy guy who chain smokes and gets laid a lot (but can't catch any stds). I would also be allowed to do whatever I wanted without consequences and I would have zero remorse. Then when I reach 60 years of age I die (while having sex) and the whole thing repeats itself again. And no I wouldn't want to know that it's repeating, when I die my memory would be erased and it would feel like a new experience every time, but it would be exactly the same.

I think to live eternally, you'd have to have the slate erased and start from the beginning every so often or you'd go insane. If you didn't, you'd end up like that dumbass in that Stephen King story "the Jaunt" where he got stuck between the teleporters for what seemed like trillions of years and went insane and clawed his eyes out.

I'd design an afterlife with two shoulders that magically were new again.
I'd surf again...in a bath-water temp ocean. When I wasn't surfing, I'd spend time with my family eating and playing....then go surfing some more. I'd also be living without asthma so I could roll up big fat ones to share with my friends. Oh.....and I would have 7 carbon fiber road bikes to ride on each day of the week over empty mountain roads. Oh...there's more...my ankles would be fixed too!.....and I would have my own skatepark complete with a big ass empty swimming pool to skate whenever I wanted...I'd also live next door to Joe Strummer and we'd hang out and talk about music and life..... and probably just laugh a lot! And when I felt like it, I'd retire to my huge art studio and make big paintings and cut stencils.

Pretty simple really.

I think it would be nice, to exist in a paradise, where you have perfect physical, mental, and emotional health. Always happy, always nourished, with the capacity to expand and extend oneself at will. The ability to take in more energy/resources growth, and the ability to do research and develop things and use them for fun.

I'd like the ability in the afterlife to do research and develop all the technologies I want and all the resources I need, except I'd do it forever.

Furthermore, I think it would be nice to have internet, that has access to all knowledge in the known universe.

There would be a single youtube video for every person's life, which you could make three dimensional and look at from every angle, with an option for consciousness comentary(a voice would tell you what their thinking, feeling, ect...)

It would also encompass the ability to watch ANYTHING, ANYWHERE, AT ANYTIME IN HISTORY.

It would also have access to the multiverse. So you could watch a real live Superman fighting braniac or Darkside, and see what he's doing.

It would also be neat to have a "What If" omniscient youtube. That is, you could go to a holodeck type setting, where you could say, "What if X". Then you could play around in that setting until you got bored. This way you wouldn't disrupt events and cause cosmic chaos, but you'd be able to enjoy an infinite number of possible scenarios for your enjoyment. You could copy characters from the multiverse, and play around with them, and you wouldn't be playing around with them, you'd just be playing around with a simulation if they were there. So you wouldn't be violating their rights.

I also think it would be nice to have jobs. Jobs where you can expand your status, and occupation. You could create multiple worlds under the specifications of the higher being. You could also reward those beings with technology and resources in exchange for following the being that created your afterlife. You could also heal people who were obedient, and smite the enemies of the chosen people.

In essence you could function as an angel.

And you could continue to develop and expand your being and your abilities, your life, your essence, as you consumed more resources that would be infinitely available.

OH also, I wouldn't want to be lonely. I mean a little loneliness is okay, but I'd want the ability to reach out to friends and family. I would want to be able to connect with my friends for eternity, and if they existed in another paradise, I would want to be able to connect with them via a "interparadisal hotline" you call them and they hear you and you can communicate with them telepathically.

Oh also, I would want my paradise to go on for eternity.
