$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Moped', 'H')i everyone, I'm Iain from New Zealand

In my day job I'm a power plant operator, I routinely operate a plant that Burns 1000 liters of diesel per minute, 24/7, for years I wondered how much longer this can continue, recently the fuel cost is causing some consternation even in this energy intensive industry, anyway just wanted to say hello before hitting the threads.

well , what price is the real issue here ,

apart from fluctuations on the day to day market expect it to rise

1, cheap oil is already been found and has been mostly used

2, those that still have easy oil will use it for themselves (export land model)

3, They'll hold back production because they need the money
why sell it cheap when a good price can be had ( direct opposite
to UK "so-called" free market - burn burn burn !)

2, offshore oil and othe exotic ( read "tar" shales ) sources are expensive to extract

and welcome to peak reality (!)

( moped - a form of transport I guess we'll all be going back to sooner than we think!)

( my petrol head career started with a Honda PC50 - the FS1E I go later was better :-) )

Hi Mo, welcome.

Keep us updated on how things are going in the power biz down there.

Diesel powered - OUCH!

So 200MW or so? What is strange is there are still liquid fuel plants being built around the world today. The price of their electricity must be incredible. And yours is baseload, not peaking?

Strange inflection for a spambot. Think it's Lithuanian?

I was thinking south and east of there . . . by quite a distance.
Stop filling dumpsters, as much as you possibly can, and everything will get better.

Just think it through.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('mistylady', 'I')'ve narrowed it down to Obama not getting the nomination and riots starting (I am a Ron Paul supporter - still), the economy totally crashing, gas being 10.00 a gallon, a false flag operation or some other attack. Yep, got my tinfoil hat out!

I hate to break it to you, but that's not tinfoil hat anymore. It may have been back in 2004. I'm not saying that's definitely how it's going to play out, but it's certainly (soylently?) in the cards. The real tinfoil hat crowd believes that the world is run by a cabal of shape-shifting lizards. I'm not kidding.

Welcome, by the way. There are plenty of doomers around here. I prefer to call myself an I-can't-wait-for-industry-and-autos-to-grind-to-a-halt-so-we-can-return-to-homeostasis-er, otherwise known as an ICWFIAATGTAHSWCRTHer. You can join me if you like.

Shape-shifting lizards? I better hang up the hat then. That's just wierd!

"ICWFIAATGTAHSWCRTHer" I can subscribe to that! We bought this little farm to help prepare for what is coming. And thank you for the welcome! :)
