$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('eastbay', 'O')ne term I find annoying is the term, Hispanic because it has no meaning whatsoever other than to tag people with brown skin who may have ancestors originating from Spanish-speaking countries. The term is utterly meaningless and anyone using that horrible term should be sent to a re-education camp for awhile.

So maybe Christopher Columbus's voyage to the new world was actually just a Hispanic illegal immigration scheme.

Down-sizing is now right-sizing

"Core competencies" bugs me. Why not just say "what we know how to do."

"Value-added." Why not just say "what we get paid to do."

"Revenue neutral." If you hear this you better hang onto your wallet.

Acronyms that were clearly designed with an acronym in mind. USA PATRIOT Act, for example.

"Synergies" usually refers to people assisting each other in pointless activities.

"Virtual" often refers to an electronic version of something that wasn't real in the first place.

Talking about "the appearance of impropriety" without asking whether there is an "appearance" because there is ACTUAL impropriety.

"Rambling letter" means we don't like the person who wrote it and don't approve of what he did or wanted to do.

"Takeway." People should use a few more words and just say "what I learned" or "the conclusion I reached." Only a LITTLE extra effort there.

Talking about SUVs as if they have minds of their own and their drivers are just swept up in the action.

I think the last thing people need to get worked up on is our lexicon whether is connotative or denotative.

MSM obsessive use of the word "troops" as if it were the plural of soldier. Maybe they think it sounds less personal than "soldiers". Helps them dehumanize how many were blown up in the latest car bomb...

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('pstarr', 'N')ow other hand, the entire culture we live in is a series of exclusive, I-am-smarter-than-you verbal b#llshit. I don't even bother to understand high-tech lingo anymore. Financial blather is annoying. Sport-talk can go b*ttfuck itself in it's greasy hiney. Nascar dribble is just annoying. Art-talk makes you want to puke a painting..

I think that euphemisms that try to represent alien groups as Americans are especially revolting.

African American
Native American
Jewish American
Mexican American

America is a European word (derived from an Italian man's name). All Americans are of European descent; i.e., White.

The Aborigines native to the continent of North America (called such because Europeans gave it that name) are not "Americans." They are Cherokee, Sioux, Apache, Pueblo, Miami... but not Americans.

Some Jews are fair-skinned, but they aren't White. Their genetic distance from Whites is about FST 0.05; the genetic distance across the White race proper is about 0.01, and its most distant outliers, the Persians, are at FST 0.02. The same can be said for the Turks: fair-skinned, but not of the White race, from which they are at a genetic distance of 0.08. There is no such thing as a "Jewish American."

In case you were curious, the genetic distance between Whites and Asians is about 0.15, and that between Whites and African Blacks ranges from 0.20 to 0.25.

American should never be part of a compound noun. The Americans are the descendants of European Whites who immigrated hither since the settling of Jamestown.

More unsubstantiated "scientific" drivel and non sequitur conclusions. I sense a pattern here.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('pstarr', 'I') live in the heart of PC-Land. Sometimes I do not even have the faintest clue as what folks are saying. I mostly shut it all out but if I gave a sh&t I could write dictionary of this bullsh@t.

"Viewshed" what you can see outside your window. It is derived from 'watershed,' the topography where your drinking water comes from. It makes fancy window treatments and pretty landscaping somehow environmentally sound. "Elders" are old-growth trees. It goes on.

Now other hand, the entire culture we live in is a series of exclusive, I-am-smarter-than-you verbal b#llshit. I don't even bother to understand high-tech lingo anymore. Financial blather is annoying. Sport-talk can go b*ttfuck itself in it's greasy hiney. Nascar dribble is just annoying. Art-talk makes you want to puke a painting.

At least PC left-wing sociology dribble is trying to undo 500 years of racism and slavery that still wounds this country. We need to grow up seriously before we can tackle the real problems that we face--overpopulation, inequality of wealth, education and opportunity and especially ecologic collapse.

Hey, What's with the "window treatments"? Whatever happened to curtains and blinds? Gotcha....

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Shannymara', '"')Issue" when substituted for "trouble" or "problem."

Issue doesn't bother me much when it refers to anything other than a psycho-social problem. Psycho-social, hyphenated, is in itself a bit annoying, too. Isn't it?

Oh, OH...Almost forgot...My worst.."memes" I know sometimes it's used correctly, but I find so many people when trying to sound very contemporary and intelligent, use this word, at least once during the course of a conversation.

"Situation"

I'd have a bigger problem with it if it did not come from my direct report who's seen been to every action since Vietnam. So far I've survived every "situation".

Perfect! A way of telling people they are jerks, euphemistically. Do you have any other examples of words or terms we love to hate?
