It's interesting to pay attention to what the "authorities" say, for example the Fed and IMF.
I figure if they want to say something gloomy, then they actually want the people to be scared. On the other hand, if they don't want the people to panic, they'll just lie through their teeth.
Interestingly, it took a while for Bernanke to finally admit the obvious, that we are in a recession.

My opinion is that whatever these guys say is not necessarily the truth or reality, but more of what they want people to believe. Just more politics.
So it's notable that now they are coming forward and saying that we are really in a crisis. Also notable is how many of the big mainstream sources are getting gloomier too.
Now is the time to open the spigot of fear, I suppose.
