The search for gas in Saudi Arabias Rub al Khali or Empty Quarter is coming up short.
The joint venture of Shell and Saudi Aramco has so far produced three dry holes. Shell was contracted to drill seven wells.
French total had no success in the Quarter and has abandoned there concession.
Italian Eni is drilling near the Jordanian border with limited success.
It seems the Empty Quarter is living up to its name for now.
