ZEITGEIST, The Movie: Interesting video. It comes in 3 parts. Part 3 talks about the Federal Reserve. Part 1 - Religion. Part 2 - 9/11. I don't agree with part 1; part 2 - maybe true. part 3 - most probably true.
Part 3 - The Federal Reserve link

You should read the book The Creature From Jekyl Island, by Edward Griffin. People in this country have no clue where the Fed Reserve came from or what it actually is.

I hate to sound like an asshole but I sincerely believe if you tried to explain to most americans the history of currency backed by gold or something else tangible and then went into Bretton woods and Nixon axing the gold standard and how the fed is actually owned by private interests that we're not allowed to know the identity of, (take a breath), and how dollars are backed by SQUAT and the fed makes TONS of interest off paper they pull out of their ass, you would see their eyes gradually glaze over before they snapped back to attention to mention how they think Paris might be adjusting to jail. fer chrissakes , my own family won't listen to anything that might really matter.Thank heavens I got you people. I often wonder how much of that lack of awareness comes from eating animals that have been eating genetically engineered corn and soybeans for a decade.

You must be an imbecile to believe that the near complete unawareness and lack of responsiveness of todays citizens is due to eating genetically modified foods and the like.

OK I got as far as the blue square and the cowbell.

I guess it could make an interesting moving, it's a regular hangout for bike messengers and motorcycle types, supposed to be endless drama there, good place to be a drama-watcher I guess. I'd not go on a weekend, myself - I'd pick a day during the week to check it out. I've heard varying reviews of the food - frankly it's bar food so you can't have super high expectations. It could be a good place to make a few bucks drawing folks or selling some kind of "biker" or bike messenger jewelry - woops messeners are always broke, lol.

OK there's a bar in San Francisco called Zeitgeist, noted for hipsters, bike messengers, bikers, black t-shirts, and attitude. Frankly that sounds more intersting than what looks to be like a New Age movie. So I was riffing on that. :P :P :P :P :P :P :P

I found the similarities between Horus and Jesus fascinating, and managed to find some corroboration of this on another site

It doesn't seem to be widely accepted by Egyptologists, though? I think a bit more research is needed before I swallow this.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'Z')eitgeist may have sacrificed a measure of precision for a greater degree of suggestion, but through that act it ripped open a hole in the mythological framework of American society. Millions of minds are at this very moment pouring through the fissure. This is why Zeitgeist simply is what It Is, a reflection of this particular moment in time and space, while at the same time serving as a tool of cultural, and potentially social, transformation.

Minds pouring through the fissure
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'W')hat’s most interesting, and ingenious, about this tripartite myth is that it does not require belief in all three sides to maintain its structural integrity; any one side is strong enough to prop up the other two because the three combine to create one all-encompassing integrated myth.

"Zeitgeist" and "Money Masters"

Unread postby oliveoil » Fri 04 Apr 2008, 19:52:29

Hi,

I have watched these two videos and am very intrigued by the later part of Zeitgeist and all of Money Masters. This to me is even bigger news than peak oil!

I am wondering if anyone has any book recommendations that deal with topics such as fractional banking, the fed and international bankers; that are not crazy conspiracy theories but also acknowledge the fact that there actually is a conspiracy going on.

In other words, a solid book that would give me more insight into these phenomena.

Thanks[fade][/fade]

The Creature from Jekyll Island: A Second Look at the Federal Reserve

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Amazon reviewer', 'A')side from the John Birch-style rants about world socialism mentioned by other reviewers and the Libertarian bent to the solution advocated by the author, it is a well-researched history of the issue, certainly much more readable than Stephen Zarlenga's The Lost Science of Money. Without the sidetrips into his own political positions the author would have a more compelling book. These things may or may not be true (he does cite references for all of it) but the story would be easier to take in without them. The information presented on the main topic is important, and G. Edward Griffin has done a fine job compiling it. The research put into the volume was obviously substantial, and like many readers it has caused me to do further research into the topic of monetary reform.

A more modern version of the story with much less ideological baggage can be found in Ellen Hodgson Brown's The Web of Debt, which is more recent (2007), is less scholastic in presentation style, and is mercifully more concise and an easier read. It presents a more compelling case with much of the same information but boiled down to eliminate some of the spurious details but is still a gripping read. WEB OF DEBT: The Shocking Truth About Our Money System -- The Sleight of Hand That Has Trapped Us in Debt and How We Can Break Free

A good overview of the history of money and its current issues can be found in Bernard Lietaer's The Future of Money (or El Futuro Del Dinero, if you don't want to spend $250+ on the English version).

For a good proposal on monetary reform building on a more realistic and populist basis, see Michael Rowbotham's The Grip of Death.

For those of you not inclined to plow through a book the size of Griffins', watch "The Money Masters" on Google video.

"Creature" is the one most people seem to read.

There's another video you can search for I remember called Fiat Empire. Will second The Creature from Jeckyll Island book as a great book for the topic!

Can search back through my posts for some detailed diagrams of how money is created. I work in international banking and it took me a few months of research to fully understand and conceptualize the process. It's not an easy topic to research because there's so much misleading information to dig through.

There are quite a few tangents of this subject too which lead to a greater overall understanding of what's going on. Can search for guys like Michael Ruppert, Michael Tsarion, Jordan Maxwell and Stewart Swerdlow. Even Alex Jones has a good video or two. Just a fyi, it's a bit shocking how far out this stuff can get. You will have appeared to have lost your mind to most people when you get in the deep end!
