IRS making sure your rebate gets spent

Unread postby phaster » Wed 02 Apr 2008, 01:48:35

IRS making sure your rebate gets spent (get a toaster, an air conditioning unit, or a price club bottle size of viagra instead of a rebate check).

finally a government program that I think makes political and economic sense...

I want to know how they got Bob Reich to play this game. I heard this--pretty clever.

what game? I'm actually looking forward to seeing what cool consumer product the government is going to send me. Perhaps it might be a pre-pay debit card in five dollar increments at the local strip club, I'm sure the government knows that is one of my favorite places to drop a few bucks...

I hope they send me an air conditioner like the couple in the report. I could sure use one up here in Anchorage. Or maybe some Apple products...

actually a 32 Gb iPod touch ($499) and $99 iTunes gift card, for all tax payers is GREAT idea cause anyone from the hot desert south west all the way to alaska would use those apple products, but I'm kinda biased cause I'm a mac guy from way back and also own a few shares of Apple...

Hmmmm... appropriate for my neighborhood, huh. Let's see, that would be a few pounds of Stumptown coffee, a black anarchist's sweatshirt complete with lots of clothespins for decoration, new bike lights and tires, a Djembe, some organic compost and vegetable starts, and some hemp overalls. Perfect. Thanks Papa Cheney!!!

Ahhh...maybe the IRS can send me some fashion jeans to roll up, some little soccer shoes, a little cycling cap, and a messenger bag and some horn-rimmed glasses.....oh...and maybe some postcards for my spokes! I can then hop on my fixed gear bike and pretend to be a cyclist!

That would be a very trendy rebate!

P.S. Sorry, I got a beef with all these trendy types hopping on fixies and not knowing shit about riding a bike.

I feel ya, catbox. Those fixies are like suicide machines for the hipsters who climb onto them. Especially without lights, dark hoodie, riding on busy streets.
