On March 18, Apple released the final (or "first stable") version of their "Safari" browser for Windows. I just heard about it and downloaded it from here:

Yes, it's free, like iTunes and QuickTime.
I've been using it for about an hour now, and I'm utterly amazed. It is unbelievably fast, at least for me.
You know those annoying delays we've always had to put up with on this forum? Forget it. They're gone with Safari. I've been zooming all over this place for the past twenty minutes, and it hasn't hung even once. It's so much faster than IE and Mozilla it isn't even a contest.
It's the same on every site I've been to so far. I showed it to my son and he hit several sites that are notoriously slow, and they all loaded almost instantaneously. He's shocked.
God knows what the Apple elves are doing, but this browser appears to be a whole new ball game so far. The web pages even look better!
Here's the Wiki page on it. I haven't studied it at all:

I've been treating it abusively, frantically clicking on every link I can, as fast as I can, opening thirty or more tabs at a time, trying to make it stumble. So far it's easily taken my best shots. I'm seriously blown away.
Ya gotta try it, folks. It's really something.
(Caveat: We have a super-fast 4 meg cable connection and my computer is a dual-core AMD 4000+ with 2 gigs of DDR2 ram and a fast video card, so your mileage may vary.)
