Experts: Sirhan Sirhan did not kill RFK.

If not Sirhan Sirhan, what say you? I'll go with Webster Tarley's thesis about the Dulles/Lemnitzer/Lansdale networks. 8)

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'M')ASHANTUCKET, Conn. -- New forensics evidence presented Tuesday during a symposium at Foxwoods suggests Sirhan Sirhan did not fire the fatal shots that killed Sen. Robert Kennedy in 1968.

Experts from all over the world met Wednesday to discuss problems in crime solving during the annual symposium, hosted by the Henry C. Lee Institute of Forensic Science. This year’s event was about conspiracies and solving complex crimes.

Dr. Robert Joling, a forensics investigator who has studied the Robert Kennedy assassination for almost 40 years, determined that the fatal shots must have come from behind the senator.

Sirhan, however, was 4 to 6 feet in front of Kennedy and never got close enough to shoot Kennedy from behind, the investigator said.

Actually he killed Jack Ruby, who didn't kill Lee Harvey Oswald, who didn't kill JFK... It was actually Marilyn Monroe who killed JFK.

The RFK assassination is a whole lot more clear-cut than the JFK assassination.

I was surprised to see this on MSNBC today. The forensics investigator said that even though the evidence was indisputable regarding the proximity and location of the gun used to murder RFK, the case has already been laid to rest in the public and official minds. It will never go to trial again.

I guess kmann would have us believe that conspiracy is simply not within the capability of human beings. What bullshit.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '.')..The other evidence was the Pruszynski recording. This is the only audio recording of the assassination. Another scientist analyzed it and concluded that at least 13 shots were fired from two different guns.

Philip Van Praag, a forensic engineer, said he made three discoveries.

The first two demonstrate that there must be more than one shooter, he said. The third conclusion is that the shots fired by the second shooter matched the firearm a security guard behind Kennedy carried.

Joling and Van Praag presented their findings together, although the two investigated the Kennedy shooting independently. They had never met until last year. During a seminar, they realized their separate findings were perfectly wed.

Sirhan Sirhan remains jailed in California.

...and this story about the RFK assassination emerged in '06:

CIA role claim in Kennedy killing

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('BBC ,Nov 2006', 'N')ew video and photographic evidence that puts three senior CIA operatives at the scene of Robert Kennedy's assassination has been brought to light.

The evidence was shown in a report by Shane O'Sullivan, broadcast on BBC Newsnight.

It reveals that the operatives and four unidentified associates were at the Ambassador Hotel, Los Angeles in the moments before and after the shooting on 5 June, 1968.

The CIA had no domestic jurisdiction and some of the officers were based in South-East Asia at the time, with no reason to be in Los Angeles.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'T')hree of these men have been positively identified as senior officers who worked together in 1963 at JMWAVE, the CIA's Miami base for its Secret War on Castro.

David Morales was Chief of Operations and once told friends:

"I was in Dallas when we got the son of a bitch and I was in Los Angeles when we got the little bastard."

Gordon Campbell was Chief of Maritime Operations and George Joannides was Chief of Psychological Warfare Operations.

Joannides was called out of retirement in 1978 to act as the CIA liaison to the Congressional investigation into the JFK assassination. Now, we see him at the Ambassador Hotel the night a second Kennedy is assassinated.

I wonder why Rafer Johnson, RFK's bodyguard and the other people at the scene thought the shots came from Sirhan Sirhan and so wrestled him to ground, if the shots were actually fired by somebody else standing ten feet away somewhere behind RFK.

According to the the forensics investigator on MSNBC today, the murder weapon (or one of them) was just a couple of inches behind Kennedy's head. He was saying that this evidence was "indisputable" and can be verified by any serious investigator.

I'm not up to speed on the details of the RFK assassination but I'm aware that incongruities exist. And I was surprised to learn that this latest evidence was presented at a conference of criminal forensics investigators.

New evidence challenges official picture of Kennedy shooting

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Guardian UK', '"')Sirhan was apprehended at the scene with literally a smoking gun," said acoustic forensic expert Philip Van Praag of PVP Designs, who has carried out the new analysis. "At the beginning many people looked upon this as an open-and-shut case. It was one man, Sirhan Sirhan, who was observed by a number of people, who aimed and fired a gun in the direction of Kennedy's entourage."

Close range

But the lone gunman explanation has always looked shaky. The autopsy of Kennedy's body suggested that all four shots that hit him came from behind, and powder marks on his skin showed they must have been from close range.

But Sirhan was in front of Kennedy when he fired, and after shooting two shots was overcome by hotel staff, who pinned him to a table. Also, Sirhan fired eight shots in total, yet 14 were found lodged around the room and in the victims.

"There is no doubt in our minds that no fewer than 14 shots were fired in the pantry on that evening and that Sirhan did not in fact kill Senator Kennedy," said Robert Joling, a forensic scientist who has been involved with the Kennedy case for nearly 40 years. He and Van Praag have published a book on the killing this week entitled "An Open and Shut Case".

The inconsistencies in the case have bred numerous conspiracy theories, including the involvement of the CIA and the idea that Sirhan - who claims not to remember the shooting and pleaded insanity at his trial - was a "Manchurian Candidate" assassin who was hypnotically programmed to kill the senator.

Audio recording

Now Van Praag has added new weight to the 'two shooters' theory. He reanalysed the only audio recording of the shooting, which was made by an independent journalist, Stanislaw Pruszynski. "At the time Pruszynski was not even aware that his recorder was still on," said Van Praag.

The recording quality is poor, but it is possible to make out 13 shots over the course of just over 5 seconds, before what Van Praag describes as "blood-curdling screams" obscure the sound. That is more than the eight rounds that Sirhan's cheap Iver Johnson Cadet 55 revolver carried...

I heard an unsubstantiated report that a physics professor from BYU did an unauthorized exhumation of RFK and found traces of thermate in the coffin.

What we thought would never end
Now is nothing more than a memory

I lost my way" - OCMS

To the tune of Doris Day's "Que Sera, Sera"

When I was just a little boy
I asked my mother, who shot Kennedy?
Was it a sanction by the CIA? Was it a conspiracy?
Here's what she said to me.

Que Sirhan Sirhan,
The guy who shot Kennedy!
The future's not ours, to see
Que Sirhan Sirhan,
What is on TV, is how it will be .

When I was young, I went to college
I asked my Proffesor who shot RFK in the head
Did they have live coverage, day after day
Here's what my Proffesor said.

Que Sirhan Sirhan,
The guy who shot Kennedy!
The future's not ours, to see
Que Sirhan Sirhan,
What is on TV, is how it will be .

When I was a worker bee
I ask the hippie IT guy the future what does he see?
Will we have more Black op wet works, biased news networks?
He told me expletavley.

No it wasn't Sirhan Sirhan,
The @*!*ing CIA shot Kennedy!
This country has @*!#ed you and me
No Sirhan Sirhan,
May Johnson administration burn in hell for eternity
If you give a man a fish you will have kept him from hunger for a day. If you teach a man to fish he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.
