$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Heineken', 'S')o you think the environment is going to start getting better? For example, that global warming is going to go away? Etc., etc.

No, I don't. That's what I meant by "Can't Fix the Motor". As in NEVER. Like it is running on six cylinders today, and in a few years five, and a few more years four. The lack of easy energy will just do one of those self-induced asphyxiation things on our civilization.

Like a large robot found dead with a belt wrapped around his neck and some kind of Rube Goldberg alternative energy schematic spread in front of him for his arousal.

The happy face is the big difference between Ludi's approach to PO and the rest of us. I wish I could be that way. Grace under pressure.

What an image. I don't quite have the cojones to suggest that for one of Aaron's quotes. Someone else will probably do it though. It's pretty accurate. Wishing and hoping that alternative energy is going to do it for us. You're on quite the roll today, Tex.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Iaato', '')$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('dunewalker', 'N')othing makes sense today. The U.S. markets are up, many world markets are down, oil is way down, gold & silver are way down, the dollar index is up---what gives, what's going to happen next?

On the days when it's all going to crap and everything looks grim without explanation, I step away from the trackpad. 9000 hedge funds are going through their pockets and looking for loose change under sofa pillows to pay the bills so that they can keep the lights on. That's going to create a disturbance in the force, fer sure. And we've got a long weekend coming up; look for some doozy announcements after the bell today. Look for Monday to be crazy. I will follow my advice, and head out tomorrow for a cabin to cabin ski tour. Spring is fantastic up here, with crust skiing and great snow and warm temperatures.

I like your Patrick Henry quote. Pragmatic fellow wasn't he.
I return to you now at the turning of the tide.

I wonder if this will be like the fall of the Maya. One weak nation will be taken over by another until it we reach a breaking point among all nations, followed by a power-vacuum. I wonder what Monte Quest thinks about this.

The Barbarian hordes that "sacked" Rome, were originally employed by Romans, in their military, as domestics. If they'd had Taco Bell's, the Barbarians would have been working there.

As went Rome, so will go the US, the Barbarians this time will be the Mexicans, the Mayans. The indigenous cultures, of the South, will combine with what is left of the dominant culture, and play a much more profound role, integrating heart, head and hopefully, environment.

If there is anything to the 2012 prophecies, this is it.

They took the whole Cherokee Nation
And put us on this reservation
Took away our ways of life
The tomahawk and the bow and knife

They took away our native tongue
And taught their English to our young
And all the beads we made by hand
Are nowadays made in Japan

Cherokee people, Cherokee tribe
So proud to live, so proud to die

They took the whole Indian Nation
And locked us on this reservation
And though I wear a shirt and tie
Im still a red man deep inside

Cherokee people, Cherokee tribe
So proud to live, so proud to die

But maybe someday when they learn
Cherokee Nation will return
Will return
Will return
Will return
Will return

Vision Master-- Cherokee nation will return...because they HAVE to. You see the resurgence on the fringes; not the buckskin type, but the cultural ones. What is the New Age movement but a clumsy urban approach to "going native". It's funny, but strangely endearing, at the same time, and intriguing for what it portends for the future.

You've been on a roll for months, Tex. Work must be slow. Loved the squirrels, did you really put all that together yourself?

Thanks. The squirrel collage took like 5 minutes. Google "squirrel" images and you will see them all.

I've noticed that too. BigTex has sort of emerged into my consciousness recently.

I nominate this as the post of the month. Let's put all worry aside for a weekend and head up to the hills to carve some turns. :)
