Jboogy - if the shit's hit the fan, yes. Hell yes.

The druggies are going to be a MAJOR problem when things get ragged. Smart towns will just wipe 'em out.

Hell they're a problem now. Friend of mine got his van broken into for the cheap-ass radio in it, they ignored the expensive 2-way job, that's how stupid druggies are, and how harmful, create major damage for minor rewards.

How many radios did you steal to support your habit, druggie? How much petty theft, break-ins, or did you resort to cheap sex, druggies do all of this shit. They are a waste. Congrats on getting off of drugs and all that, but druggies are going to get cleansed when the time comes. Maybe we'll just mix rat poison in with their little powders, who knows, but they'll have to be cleared out.

How about just throw out the entire fucking idea of public schools because they are made of 100% utter fail? Every single aspect of public schools fail. I can hardly name one thing good about them except maybe, relatively cheap babysitting. Kids go in schools and come out as pussies with battered egos and a completely wrong idea about what it means to learn and be a person.

Damnit!

I think that they should come up with some courses for the new economy, like how to rip copper out of an abandoned building.

What are we going to do instead of school? What about instead of sports? That's a lot of kids wandering around, bored.

It may turn out to be cheaper to keep these kids in school.

You're funny Plants, vile, but funny. You assume I was a petty thief in order to finance my drug habit. Most recreational drug users are employed, actually an overwhelming majority are employed and have no criminal history. I was never popped for possession, petty theft, etc. What I was arrested and did time for was assault, twice.
You know what we use to do?, (me and my friends), we used to like going to bars, drinkin' and getting in fights.(I am embarrassed by this now) We would sit and wait for one of the home bars regulars to start shit with one of us, sometimes we would have to chat up one of the girls to provoke a reaction, sometimes nothing would happen and we would have to try a new bar. Sometimes a regular wouldn't say or do anything except give one of us the wrong look, but that would be enough for a verbal challenge of some kind to be issued.
My point is you seem foolishly confident that you and your kind would have been able to take me and my friends out, I actually find it laughable, we enjoyed confrontation and battle. And we seldom lost. Are you really that naive to think that all drug users are petty thieves, and that they all would be easily intimidated or dominated by someone like you?
Your attitude and ignorance will be your weakness should TSHTF. Don't ever confuse young, in shape men, with 14 year-old skate punks that stole a joint out of their older sisters drawer, just because both groups party. It could prove to be your end.
By the way, I've met some hard-core meth users through the years that were brutally hard and ruthless, they scared me when I was in my prime, almost superhuman strength, endurance and ability to block pain, if lawlessness ever becomes widespread, beware these people, you will not impose your will on these people, I guarantee it.
Perhaps the population would be less swayed to socialism if we had fewer examples of socialism from our "Free Market Capitalists". -----fiddler dave

Kind of like society. Isn't it fun to bash pretty much every institution on the one hand while on the other we have participated in or are members of them and don't feel moved to participate in any real change?

Also, interesting that you seem to believe that the upbringing of children is responsibility of the education system. It is called the education system and not the parenting system for a reason. Parenting skills peaked sometime in the 1940's or 50's IMO. I've been a science teacher for almost two years and so have seen it from both sides. My son has been taught to think, fight, shoot, butcher animals, show respect, humility, and to care to mention a few. (so have my daughters). He is not a pussy and has won every fight that has been brought to him, he hasn't started any. As an adopted black kid in a white family he has had a few fights brought to him.

Kind of like the "civilized" world and peak resources.

(for those of you that this doesn't apply to, my apologies if you felt included)

You want to know what is wrong with education, it’s simple, the politicians won’t leave it alone. Inasmuch as most everyone has been to school, everyone thinks he is an expert. When the cut backs start, schools will be screaming for paras. They are cheaper. Sign up try your hand at running a class. See for yourself how easy it is.

Funny how the majority won't go into the teaching profession because the pay is so low.

Like any publicly administered program it is administratively top heavy and there is a lot of waste, greed and pimping going on, most often from former administrators. The teachers who truly love to teach stay in the class room and do their best every day despite of the slings and arrows from the howling naysayers.

Pay is low? Once you figure benefits and summers off, they got a great gig going.

The local High School put in a time clock. All were told to clock in when they arrived and clock out when they left. It stayed in place for one month. The clock disappeared with all the time logs. It seems that the administration forgot to consider morning and afternoon tutoring, make ups, clubs, agriculture projects, science projects, academic contests and coaching.

Homecoming, just one event required three teachers to put in 40 hours off the clock. All the chaperones, most of them teachers; they did it for free because they loved the kids.

Drive by any school parking lot on any given day and see if it is empty at 3:00 p.m.
