Doesn't seem to be saying much at all. Looks like they didn't really want to piss of the powers that be and went really tamed. Thought they would also appease the jews and talk about the holocaust as well.

I don't know about that Jason, I'm pretty surprised MTV had the courage to air these. They are sticking their fingers into the eyes of some extremely powerful people by doing this. We need more of this type of cautionary message. You better believe the MTV bigwigs have received a lot of nasty phone calls from the federal government since these have aired.

Looks like Youtube pulled both videos already. Anyone have an alternative source?

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('jasonraymondson', 'D')oesn't seem to be saying much at all. Looks like they didn't really want to (upset) the powers that be and went really tamed. Thought they would also appease the jews and talk about the holocaust as well.

That's sort of what I was thinking too. It looks to me like a holocaust propaganda series probably inspired from surveys showing fewer and fewer each year believe the standard believe-it-or-go-to-jail story.

Maybe it's cops rounding up people who question certain details of the event. That's happening now.

Who owns MTV anyhow?? The owners obviously ordered these videos for a reason.

Both youtube vids are still active in the OP's link.

What's disturbing is if these MTV commercials are not protest motivated but public relations oriented validation. Certain cops already have assault rifles and canines in NYC subways...

I was thinking this could be a precore for " The Real World:
Halliburton Detention Camps For Political Subversives".

Think how easy it would be for a small group of men to dress up as if they were law enforcement, and take over your house in such a manner.

What did you expect from a network that created a show that features guys shooting bottle rockets out of their asses and THE Real World... quality programming? Yeah right!

Mediocre Television or Miscelaneous Television ( cause they sure as hell don't play music most of the time) is what it should be called.

My bad. Flash plug-in for Firefox was tweakin' for some reason. Closed and reloaded the browser and it works now. Man I hate Micro$oft favoritism...

I don't think this has anything at all to do with the jews or holocaust, there is no reference made to those events at all. This could be any country at any time within the past 80 years. The message is clear and it is a powerful statement that is being made by one of the most widely accessed mediums for young people in this country. I found it to be unambiguous ; this could be you and your family in the near future, if things continue as they have been. MTV will be attacked from the right mecilessly for these ads. They've already been pulled from u-tube, that tells you something right there. Does anyone know if they've ever aired? Or if they will be aired?

Hi Plantain, I disagree with your statement and I'm not about to flood this thread with anecdotal evidence that's been gone over ad-nauseum here before, I will examine the timing of these ads as it relates to current events and the current administration. These ads were produced recently, the right has been in power for the past 7 years, ergo these ads are targeting the current right-wing administration, unless these ads are a response to the Carter administration and it's just taken a really long time for them to be produced.

Am I the only one who finds it amusing that MTV is telling the youth of America to think? They're the biggest promoters of conformity for our youth! Telling people to think for 30 seconds, then trying to sell them cars, soft drinks, food, and prescription medication, all before showing such thought-provoking programming as "Making The Band". Think, indeed.

They're either a bunch of corporate hypocrites, or they're completely oblivious to the fact that their core demographic is people who lack the ability to think. Airing these commercials on MTV would have the same effect as placing a PETA billboard across the street from a cattle rancher's convention: none whatsoever.

"Beavis and Butthead" and "Daria" are the only two reasons I have ever watched MTV to begin with. These shows have long since gone off the air.
