UK Top Cop Who Led CIA Probe Found Dead

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'A') city police chief who led an investigation into charges that Britain cooperated with secret CIA flights to transport terrorism suspects without formal proceedings has been found dead, his deputy said Tuesday.

Manchester Chief Constable Michael Todd, 50, was found dead in Snowdonia, about 240 miles northwest of London, Deputy Chief Constable Dave Whatton said. He had been missing since going out for a walk Monday during his day off.

The association gave him the task of looking into accusations that Britain allowed the CIA to use the country's airports to fly terrorism suspects to other countries without any extradition hearings, a clandestine procedure known as "extraordinary rendition."

Todd's investigation concluded last June that there was no evidence to back the claim. Last month, however, Britain admitted one of its remote outposts in the Indian Ocean had twice been used by the United States as a refueling stop for the secret transfer of two terrorism suspects.

Don't mess with big brother, they should have known better...

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'D')r David Kelly said in February that if Iraq was invaded he would "probably be found dead in the woods", the Hutton inquiry heard today.

David Broucher, a permanent representative on the convention on UN disarmament in Geneva, said that he had taken Dr Kelly's comment to be a throwaway remark at the time.

However, in the light of Dr Kelly's apparent suicide last month, when his was found in woods near his Oxfordshire home, Mr Broucher realised the remark could be significant.

He met Dr Kelly just once in Geneva on February 27 when they discussed Iraq's compliance or non-compliance with the convention on biological weapons.

"As Dr Kelly was leaving I said to him what will happen if Iraq is invaded," Mr Broucher told the inquiry.

"And his reply was - which I took at the time to be a throwaway remark - 'I will probably be found dead in the woods'."

Geez, well if I ever know something TPTB would want to keep from the masses I sure as hell won't be going out for a walk on my own in the UK! MI6 are some nasty fuckers.

Score another point for the shadow govt! A gangland slaying and the media fails to connect the bodies, let alone the dots.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'G')ary Condit, Democrat Congressman, was indeed a member of the House Permanent Select Committee on INTELLIGENCE

Newsweek interview with Gary:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '[')i]You mentioned the last time you saw her was the 24th or 25th [of April]. She came to your apartment that morning?
Right.

But this had been prearranged?
No, I was surprised to see her because I figured she'd be at work. This was the time she told me that she had lost her prospects on the job with the Bureau of Prisons.... It was the first time I'd seen her in probably three weeks.

There were several phone calls in early April, about every day. Was there any issue during that time?
I never had a cross word with her. The kind of conversation we had would be--I'm not sure what day [Timothy] McVeigh was executed or what day [Juan Garza] was executed. She seemed to have a lot of interest in those two things and a lot of more interest in them than I did. She might have called and said, "Hey, I read they are building a new federal prison down in your district and they are going to employ 350 people," and blah, blah, blah. And I might call her back and she might share information with me. We might get into a philosophical discussion about Israel or foreign aid, but that was pretty unusual.
