Ever since it was reported that the average UK citizen is photographed by surveillance cameras 300 times in an average day, I have been becoming progressively more and more disappointed with the UK.

And what's worst of all is, why on God's green Earth haven't the citizens revolted against this crap? Have they lost the legendary spine that won the Battle of Britain and got them through WW2? Does it have something to do with the lack of firearms, so there is zero potential to overthrow a serious tyranny (or even try)? Does it have something to do with deindustrialization under Mad Cow Maggie? Or the rise of finance capital (as opposed to industrial capital) as the central industry of London?

I have ancestors from places that are closely related to England, and I'm practically ashamed of the place at this point.
