Carlin has been a doomer forever. Long before he cared about the environment taking us out he figured we'd off each other. One way or the other he'd probably right.

Yes, George Carlin gets it. But I suspect he doesn't see the same people sitting in power that you see, NordicHero.

Read about Rupert Murdoch some time. I think Rupert is a charter member of the "club" as Carlin refers to it.

Murdoch has done so much to eliminate crticial thought in the media, and shift the focus to the instant sensational over the real analysis of things.

God bless George Carlin.

I tried to convince people they need to stop bending over, but they weren't listening. Instead I was ridiculed for being anti-American, un-patriotic, or simply paranoid. I gave up.

Yet there remains space, it is a lonely space, kind of like montana, but there is space to exercise that free thought. I won't try to deny much of what George had to say but there seems to me to be a little bit of hope in the fact that he thought it, more that he said it and even more that we heard it and can agree with it.

We might be frustrated at the state of the union, but we know what it is that frustrates us and that is a good start, and that is a blessing that we should always take time to count when everything else seems so dire.

Carlin does a lot of bending over himself, whoring for the big finance companies and the steal-your-retirement funds.

I've lost all respect for him.

Carlin has always been a dope-smoking, cynical, negative bastard.

I've never liked him or his material.

Well, you have stated your opinion, to which you have a right.

But I have seen your posts over the years, and I am guessing that you have a bit of dope-smoking in your past -- and you sure the hell can be cynical and negative sometimes ... if a goodly percentage of your posts are any indication.

I frankly don't know what the hell George Carlin REALLY has to do with the elections ... nothing, in my opinion. And you probably would agree with me on that.

But your post came across a little holier-than-thou, for a guy who can sound in his posts like Captain Cynical on a bum-trip himself, often times.

Just my thoughts.

Yeah, me too. How can you look at the shit WE create without being cynical and negative. I gave up dope smoking long ago though I sometimes think I should take it back up, beat reality.

The problem with America is US, as in "we the people." Why? How do I know this? Go back to the 2000 election, W did not "steal" it, large numbers of US voted for him. The question is not how he stole the election, the problem is that he got ANY VOTES AT ALL. And 2004? Sure Kerry is a wooden nerd but W won that fair and square. He should not have gotten more than 10% of the votes, and them because they emptied out the mental health institutions.

The question is why isn't everyone cynical and negative and pissed off!

Carlin isn't perfect, but he's funny most of the time and makes a lot of good points. The part about the midwest flooding had me laughing because there is so much truth to it.
