After a warm welcoming, I would like to use the post to present our man on the street interviews, giving the perspective of average citizens on the street.

I would like to hear your opinions and feedback so please post and leave comments.

Good Q&A my friend.

Shows you how clueless people are in general about this issue. The best you got were nothing short of shockingly vague.

My coworkers are even more clueless, even the smart ones.

Welcome aboard BTW!

Actually - not that bad...the interviewees may not be sitting at their keyboards all day reading TOD, but they hit a lot of the big issues...they mentioned emerging industrial countries; supply and demand; distrust of the government...

BTW welcome to PO.

The point that stands out for me is that they are aware that neither the present govt, nor presidential candidates have any substantial plans to deal with energy problems. Nor do they trust the govt as a source of info.

That looks like fertile ground for educating people to begin their own efforts toward dealing with the problem. How about asking what they can do personally?

Kudos to the guy at the end who said he thought energy "was the most important thing facing this country right now." That is a truth you do not hear often.
