What if a group of people actively attempted to establish a place where the understood context was that the place is where you go to talk (or read, learn) with whoever, about current issues and ideas. Basically a bar without the alcohol and with certain protocols about respect and boundaries. Could such a thing ever fly? Is it a bad idea?

Remember hearing about the ancient Greek Agora? Kind of like that...could something like that happen in today's world? Why did it disappear?

Most importantly, would you be interested in visiting such a place?

Would such a place be a boon to our lives/society?

Thanks for your feedback

I've heard they have bars like that in Europe.

Such a place must most certainly have debates, also!

I like the idea. Europe, I envy you!

it is. it would work for the short term but any long term ideas on such matters fail to take into acount human nature.
