Most of Us Will Eat Expletive deleted. Until the Day We Die
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'T')he ruling elites in the United States have been committed to a foreign policy of American hegemony for over a century; this has been especially true in the decades following the end of World War II. This foreign policy of global hegemony, to be actualized by overthrow, assassination, war, murder, torture and occupation as required, has been and remains a fully bipartisan affair. Both Republicans and Democrats, insofar as the parties bearing those names are central institutions of power in the United States, embrace this policy; very often, Democrats have been notably more aggressive and ruthless in pursuit of this end than Republicans (always excepting the current war criminals in charge of the executive branch). I have detailed this bipartisan policy of murder and conquest in numerous essays . . .

And if you think Obama is different - you are wrong...Scroll down about half way and read all about Obama's hegemonic desires...
Here's a rule you can take to the bank...$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', ' ')Any individual who rises to the national political level is, of necessity and by definition, committed to the authoritarian- corporatist state. The current system will not allow anyone to be elected from either of the two major parties who is determined to dismantle even one part of that system.
color=red]Expletive deleted.[/color] your hearts...$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'H')ow much of this bullshit are we going to take? How long are we supposed to give the Reids and Pelosis and Hillarys of the world credit for wanting, deep down in their moldy hearts, to do the right thing? Look, Expletive deleted. your hearts, OK? Just get it done. Because if you don't, sooner or later this con is going to run dry. It may not be in '08, but it'll be soon. Even Americans can't be fooled forever.
You can define me as post political...none of what is in place is geared to get us through what is ahead...Got bunker?

For those of us who don't want to "eat Expletive deleted. until the day we die" there is

I would just remind you roccman that life is a Expletive deleted. sandwich. The more bread one has, the less Expletive deleted. one has to eat.

If we are going to get fExpletive deleted., let's be busy and distracted as possible instead of waiting around for the galactic Expletive deleted. to arrive. You seem like the kind who would rather die in action than roll off the sofa and Expletive deleted. himself anyway. If things turn for the endurable, then you can decide if you wish to become as someone here called "a bliss ninny", although I doubt that you are prone to that.

I am hoping to cheer you up a bit, but bordering on kissing your Expletive deleted.. Even so, notice how I stay out on the cheeks and away from the middle. This takes years of experience.

I have been ready for tsthtf for some time now, but I have come to realize that saying about Rome being built in a day is the same as it not being destroyed in a day.

Time my friends. Lots and lots of time is what takes place between the start of an empire to the hight of an empire and then to its collapse.

The us is playing out like it started, but only in reverse. as we reverse certain forces will attempt to hold on to whatever power and affluence they can manage. Things will get harder, lines will get longer, and the people will mosey along. The cyclic cycle of existence is not one that can really be circumvented

I think though as we continue along this path we will see more and more Skinner type approaches to hurding the cattle towards a path that better enables the elites to hold on to what they have.

I don't expect things to get to bad until I get to old to do anything about it, and I plan to die with whatever dignity I can muster.

I am joining the service because of this knowledge and because I don't see any point in trying to do anything to fancy with my life, when in it won't matter long term anyway.

The end of days are not at hand gentlemen, just the slowing grind of the cog as tries to avoid coming to a halt.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('roccman', 'n')one of what is in place is geared to get us through what is ahead...

That is true. I would add that what is in place is not only not geared to get us through what is ahead...but what is ahead is a terrible threat to what is in place.

The global corps and governments that serve them will not be able to survive the energy deficit of the future. Their very existence is at stake and their complexity and massive appetite for energy and resources will be their undoing. Their impulsive response is to grasp for more power, more control, more surveillance, more police state actions. As the control they desperately seek starts to slip from their grasp.

Things will get more Orwellian more surreal, until the whole power system starts to wobble, heave and crack. It will eventually fall face first in to the dirt, and that my friends is what makes me an optimist.

The legitimate object of government, is to do for a community of people, whatever they need to have done, but can not do, at all, or can not, so well do, for themselves -- in their separate, and individual capacities.

I agree. I'm actually working rather hard at learning the trumpet. Might be fun and everything's just grinding down anyway, might as well have some fun. I'd join the service if I could, I can't get 'em to budge on the age thing. Guess I'll have to wait until things get interesting on the home front to get any trigger time in. Anyone who hasn't read the book "On The Beach" by Nevil Shute, probably should.
