Credit cards vs. debit cards, I think both have their uses and dangers.
Credit cards, as explained, are for payment, as they offer protection in the event of a dispute. But only an idiot takes the debt bait. And some purchases unavoidably require cash.
Debit cards, as explained, are NOT for payment, using them for transactions involves significant additional risk which only an idiot would accept when there is an alternative. However, they can offer instant access to your cash pile at any time and place of your choosing, with no fee and no need to speak to anyone.
You can screw up really big with either, and people do. Use the right tool for the job and there is no problem.
