Genius.

In all fairness, I think this came up a while back on the excellent Cracked Magazine site.

The part at the end sure tells it all. I had a friend give me a black fleece vest, which was too big for me. I said Thanks and all that of course, but didn't wear it because it was too big - well, there was a homeless guy always behind the market near my apartment, and he looked like he could use it, and it would fit. The guy's not really verbal, and wasn't around anyway so I left it on his cart - later I saw him wearing it and it fit like it was made for him. It was a real feel good, and when I saw him later I told him I'm glad it fit him sell. This is a fairly scary looking black guy with eyes like that kid on The Cosby Kids, too. But anyone around there knew him and knew he was harmless, and part of the neighborhood.

Sadly, I saw him later, all skinny and had a radio he was holding like he expected commands from the space aliens on it to come in anytime. Poor guy. Yeah I talked with him a bit, as much as was possible, and gave him a buck.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('uNkNowN ElEmEnt', '')$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('dinopello', '')$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('uNkNowN ElEmEnt', 'H')aving a confident looking white woman with a deadly intent gleam in her eye...

Oh my, you just got PMS all hot and bothered, I bet.

At least there are some constants in teh universe!
I'm feeling pretty mellow. I know it sucks to really lose one's temper like that. The last time I really lost my temper must have been about 5 years ago. I was on an up-slope off-ramp waiting for a light to change and some silly woman pulled up inches behind me. I motioned for her to back up and she flipped me off. I used to lose my temper more when I was younger. Not any more. I don't like the feeling and prefer to meditate and rise above whatever the situation is.

Here's an interesting story about run-ins with strangers. Back when my ex was young and lithe she took up martial arts. She got quite good at it. So one day she was driving on the freeway and some crazy speed freak guy nearly ran her off the road. She got mad and honked and flipped him off. So he started following her. Finally she pulled over and he did too. He got out and she said "why are you following me?" He lunged at her and she kicked the crap out of him. He went back to his car to get a baseball bat. Just then another motorist stopped to intervene and the perp ran back to his car and drove off. It is worth remembering, though, Martial Arts can't stop a bullet.

As for my infatuation with UE, I'm sure I'm not her type. Besides, pushing 54 and being out of shape, I'm sure if I met her I would grin, she would say "well?" I would say, "uh" and that would be that. :-D

I think its wouldn't have come to anything if she hadn't rammed me. But when someone actually touches me if they have a negative intent I have this autonomic reaction. I never knew it was there, but I think its just a defense mechanism.

If you have any kind of brains at all you are probably smart enough to realize that shouldn't go hitting, kicking, ramming or any kind of violent contact. Otherwise, you probably deserve what you get.

It would be nice to be a nice person like Ludi, but not all of us are perfect or saintly and we probably wouldn't appreciate people like that if they weren't so rare and special. Good for you.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', ' ')It is worth remembering, though, Martial Arts can't stop a bullet.

yeah, really good advice that one. and remember if you have a weapon that there's always a good chance they can take it from you and use it on you. The fact that you have a weapon doesn't make any difference to some of us.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'A')s for my infatuation with UE, I'm sure I'm not her type.
You are sweet, smart and sexy, what's not my type? ;-)

some of this reasons apply to peakoil.com; a "bunch of doomers with a gloomy mood" ...and communicating via text!

don't forget flirting. And that's not so gloomy, is it? Golem calls me "bitter." But I've been walking on air since being called sweet, smart and sexy. [smilie=love4.gif]

I've also been walking on air since I learned that my youngest daughter who is a freshman in high school is too intimidating for JV basketball. Her classmates on the team are afraid of her and she makes them look bad. They kicked her off the team and bumped her up to varsity. She's an incredible girl and makes me so proud.

I'm not sure it is. She's only 14, she's a freshman. In another era, they would have kept her and had a kick ass JV team. Her teammates would have looked up to her talent and rallied around it. Now she will sit on the varsity bench and wait for next year to play. Why, because she's too good and her teammates resent it. This is not wholesome.

Man, then that's awful. But hey, at least she knows you're proud of her...

Yeah, I'm proud of her. Her older siblings picked on her when she was little. I laid into them with wrath and fury. Now we all love her.
