NFL Playoffs

Peak oil, peak food, wars in Sudan and Iraq, thousands dying everyday from malnutrition, AIDS and other causes around the world, Buddhist Monks being tortured and murdered in Burma, $50 trillion debt in the US, Global Climate Change, the soon-to-be War in Iran. Screw that.

Who ya got today in the playoffs?

I have Colts getting some revenge over the Chargers after that debacle and Giants taking on the Cowboys.

Colts have Harrison back and I don't trust Rivers in the playoffs. Colts' D is quite fast from what I remember and I don't think Rivers will handle the pressure that Mathis and others bring. Don't expect the Colts to flop like they did the first time around. I just can't see the Chargers sneaking away another one.

Giants are just on a roll. I think that resting the players the last game of the season will get the Cowboys, after their bye, in a bit of a funk. It'll be interesting to see how TO comes back after his injury, given his recent history of playoffs while returning from injuries.

Colts
Giants

Even though I'd like to see the Cowboys win, if they play anything like the last few times, they don't have a chance against NY.

The real prediction should be: When will televised sports no longer be around? Would the end of NASCAR be the canary in the coal mine? (I despise NASCAR btw, it's the epitome of energy wastefulness.)

Colts and Cowboys will win

I just can't see the Giants beating the Cowboys.

Eli Manning has had a couple of good games, but that doesn't erase his tendency to go blank and make mistakes when he's put under pressure.

Colts & Chargers in ten minutes. Chargers have been the nemesis of the Colts in recent years. Chargers also have the best winning percentage of any team in football in the RCA dome. Don't count the Bolts out.

Colts(sorry PMS) , and my boys , I think the sitchyason in BIG D is you have a team that was very conservative the last few weeks with not much to play for , and they still won at carolina, teams with great reg. season records and a 1st round bye do very well in the playoffs historically. I still remember quite fondly back in 95' I believe, Dallas with a first round bye waiting for the eagles who had kicked ass during the end of the season and crushed their opponent in the wildcard round, I lived in SE PA. at the time and all my friends were busting my chops in the week leading up to the game about how the birds were on a roll and they were gonna smash the boys, I smiled and covered their bets. Dallas was the better team and their record during the year proved it, Dallas rolled , it was literally no contest. Witness Greenbay yesterday.

Unbelievable. Chargers were robbed of seven points by bad official calls. They are going to be fired up in the second half.

As someone who lives in the Dallas-Ft Worth area. I am pleased to see the Cowboys are doing better.

I got the Colts game on up here at work. Looks like it's 17-14 Colts.

The star running back is out, the Quarterback is out. They've got the lead. Nobody expected this. Now it's back at the Indy 45 yard line. Chargers are winning.

What a great game, with bot teams playing through major injuries. It's gonna be tough against the Pats though with or without those injuries, but revenge is sweet.

...and this is why I never bet on football games, lmao!

Good for SD. (I really didn't care less who won that game.) Now if my guess for the NYG vs. Cowboys game is wrong, I'll be glad that the "home team" won! lol

A good day all-in-all though, watched some football, got the painting nearly done in the living room. Now I can get back to installing the rest of the laminate floor while watching/listening to the game...

I will miss watching football in the future...

Never fear your local set of high schools will still play, but you will have to be there in person to see it in all likelyhood.

If things have got so bad that the billion dollar teams with multi-million dollar players can't move around to play against each other or the networks are unable to broadcast the games I seriously doubt the shoestring budget Highschool teams are still going to be playing.

There will be a ton of other things they should be putting their resources towards.

That colts chargers game was great. I'm thinking cowboys are going through with this one.

I think POer was referring to the fact that to watch football costs electricity, TV, and cable or satellite subscription. So in a few years, he doesn't think that he'll have enough money to spend on luxuries as such.
