The planes struck the Twin Towers and everyone knew...

Unread postby Angry_Chimp » Fri 11 Jan 2008, 00:33:04

“Yeah, I was in the old Executive Office Building for those meetings, at one time or another all of us were. BP, Chevron, Conoco-Phillips, Shell, Exxon-Mobile, US oil and Gas… but only the top managers, the CEs were purposely kept away. That was the red flag, the “plausible deniable” factor. All of us knew what was at stake, we’d seen the reports coming out of the Caspian Basin, all of which added a sense of urgency to Cheney’s plan. Rumsfeld showed us SAT images of the oil fields while Wolfowitz did most of the selling, some nonsense about how our workers would be safe, how they’d be embraced, all the while pushing us for timetables on how long it would take us to get the oil flowing again, as if we had a crystal ball. The Brown and Root guys had detailed maps of Iraq’s energy infrastructure; you could tell they’d been in it with the CIA lady from the beginning. It was one big circle jerk, and I just kept nodding, wondering what the hell we were doing here, I mean the Bushies had just taken office, and the scenario they outlined, no one actually believed it would happen. Five months later the planes struck the Twin Towers and everyone knew. The Senate Hearings that followed… what a joke. I mean, no one was even placed under oath.”

uhm you do realize that this book is fiction? Right? Probably some truth to it, but this book is still a work of fiction. Probably disinformation.

Listen get the dam book before you make silly statements like that. In the beginning he clearly states what part is fiction and what parts are actual research. A quick example but he spends the introduction explaining this fact:

"Though the Novel is written as fiction, it is filled with all-too-real details provided by insiders in the oil industry, military, and Middle Eastern affairs."

Each chapter begins quotes from his research and he also takes quotes from , Matt Simmons, Michael Kane, Heinberg etc from well know published articles and books. Then a fictional story line weaves in-between the facts. He is telling a story as fiction that most people that study this stuff know to be true but can’t gather enough evidence to prove it beyond a reasonable doubt. He is just using a different approach than Ruppert did with “Crossing the Rubicon” which was written as if he was presenting a case to a jury. The quote above is not fictional he obtained it by interviewing people in the industry.

BTW

DISINFO? Arn't you DISINFO?

Steve Alten's weaving of fiction with reality in The Shell Game has been endorsed by the leading lights within the 911 Truth Movement - David Ray Griffin, Dr. Steven Jones, and many others. So all of those 911 researchers do not consider the book a work of disinformation.

There has been no comment on the The Shell Game from any leading lights within the Peak Oil crowd. But the book explains the Peak Oil Theory and links 911 to Peak Oil.

Perhaps once it's available in the bookstores and hitting the bestseller lists it will be discussed more on PO.com. I think there is significant dread within the PO community over anything that links 911 with Peak Oil. Tough luck!

Everyone I've heard who has read advance copies has rated it a big "thumbs up".

This deserves a real response , but I'm pressed for time , the longer the string the harder it will be to run the table.
Perhaps the population would be less swayed to socialism if we had fewer examples of socialism from our "Free Market Capitalists". -----fiddler dave

What I see as pathethic is the pawns that give their lives for their kings and queens. I'm talking of USArmy spineless soldiers that blindly follow "authorities" selling their lifes for pennies.
