Movie: A Day Without A Mexican

Unread postby PenultimateManStanding » Mon 31 Dec 2007, 21:53:26

Clever movie. All the Mexicans just suddenly disappear. California goes into chaos. Newscasts report riots as the Baseball games are canceled. The same news reports state that NBA officials say basketball games will continue. This movie is pretty funny social satire.

Thanks for the reminder. I've wanted to watch that one since it first came out but haven't yet. My energy slaves are acquiring it as we speak.

Not all of us live in SoCal. But I'm sure most of us pay for it. You best leave SoCal PMS.

I can't and won't leave SoCal. I love the smell of the Chaparral. This is where I'm going to face whatever is coming. What about you? You know this area too. Did you already leave? All those sweet smelling estuaries, the Santa Ana breezes from the desert? If you're leaving, where are you going?

A Day Without A Mexican looks interesting....will put it on the list.

I met several people this year who have left SoCal and headed up to NorCal and Oregon. I also have a few friends who love LA! One owns a bar down there...The Broadway Bar....and the other makes skateboard films and lives to ride empty swimming pools... I can't say either of them are up on PO.

Are you being sarcastic? SoCal has its merits but sweet smelling air isn't one of them. Los Angeles has the worst air quality in the country!

...... Is a good day indeed!

That movie is utter bullshit. Out here in Arizona we're cracking down on these illegals and whites can get work again.

This is one thing a lot of liberals don't understand - that those of us in favor of a Real American ethno-state are not in favor of other groups being subservient, we're interested in them just not being here at all. In the only stable type of a state, the ethno-state, We The People do everything from run the place to wash cars. For a reference on this, ask anyone who was alive 50+ years ago.

Jesus, Plants, can't you get off that shit for once. It amused me.

plus, Mos6507, I don't live in L.A. I live south where there are rarely days with bad air quality.

PMS maybe you're in one of the few unions that are white-friendly but most of us who've lived in areas infested by non-whites have suffered greatly from the discrimination against whites.

So YOU come off it, rich boy.

And (facing the crowd) PMS lives in San Diego, a nice place, but one that is in fact quite infested with nonwhites and where nonwhite laws are driving out more all the time.

They (the pc, pacifist bleeding heat types) are just angered because you speak the truth. I say throw all the illegals out.

So there are only illegals and whites in this country? You are pathetic.

And your businesses are going to crush your new law in short order. The hypocracy drips from your "white" leadership.

You guys are hijacking my thread. This was just one of my movie pics threads. You want another bash/don't bash the Mexicans thread go start your own. I've been in a comedy flick mood. Just watched The Big Lebowski again. Damn that's a funny movie. I've got Disorganized Crime coming in the mail. One of the funniest movies I've ever seen. I watched it back in the 80s. Any good comedy recommendations?

It's an entertaining movie but some of its arguments are deeply flawed.

As for other movie recommendations, have you seen Charlie Wilson's War yet? It's great!

I've just added it to my list. I don't care about the messages of A Day Without A Mexican. As you said, it's entertaining. Sometimes it gets kind of hard to keep contemplating what lies ahead. Just got myself one of those crank radios. No power, no batteries needed. Made in China of course. The future is no doubt bleak, but there are still good movies to be seen.

You probably have a Gundig/Eton FR200 or FR250. Don't use the crank, because the crant mechanism has a limited lifetime. Use batteries until you genuinely don't have any. They are very good radios, good for AM DX'ing and play a long time on a load of batts.

The possibility definately exists of a sort of "lid put over the Empire" in the case of an especially successful terrorist/freedom fighter attack, and it would be entertaining listening to shortwave. And it's already interesting listening to shortwave because there's a lot of discussion that's illegal in the US that's on the airwaves. :)

Okay, I'll stick to topic. Big Lebowski was pretty funny, the Coens usually do a good job (except for that lame remake of "The Ladykillers".) I've never seen "Disorganized Crime", I'll have to check that one out.

Btw, if you want to see a new comedy, DON'T go see Walk Hard... it was shitty. I walked out after about 25 minutes. Lame joke after lame joke. Cliche after cliche. Basically, it was just another one of those horrid "Epic movie/Date movie" types of films. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

How does a poor boy like you, Plants, afford a short wave radio? Rich cats like me buy $30 Radio Shack China imports. I don't plan on using it much so I'm not concerned about how long the crank mechanism works.

New comedy? now there's an oxymoron. Disorganized Crime is a flick I'm looking forward to seeing again after all these years. I woke my little daughter up way back when because I was laughing so hard while watching it. She gave me a quizzical look, then grinned and went back to her room to sleep. One of the great Fred Gwynne's last films.
