The World They Live In

Unread postby PenultimateManStanding » Sat 29 Dec 2007, 19:13:21

versus the World I Live In. It's strange. It's like that old John Carpenter They Live flick where the special sunglasses enabled the protagonist to see the aliens amongst the humans. People are all going about their business as if nothing was about to happen. You can't tell them. They'll think you're a nut. But instead of special sunglasses, we have hard data and reports from a wide range of agencies, increasingly, that tell us of impending danger. Nobody is listening. Even if you could give them the special sunglasses, they'd fight you tooth and nail before they'd put them on.

Damn that's a good movie too - the fight scene was very good, the main thing is the whole idea is dangerous to the you-know-whos who run the US.

I often feel like I am just observing this world, living on the outskirts, only doing what I need to do, instead of participating fully with the others. I haven't even told my girlfriend yet; if they don't drink the Kool-Aid, they think you're a conspiracy nut.

Here's that fight scene from They Live:
