Don't suffer from PTSD... go out and cause it

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'B')OISE – Idaho's newest police officers are not being trained to inflict post-traumatic stress, the head of officer training for the state says, despite a slogan to that effect that was featured prominently in the program for the latest police academy graduation.

"Don't suffer from PTSD, go out and cause it," urged the slogan, which was printed above the list of 43 graduates of the Idaho Police Officer Standards and Training Academy's latest basic academy.

The problem is, of course, that not only is economics bankrupt, but it has always been nothing more than politics in disguise... economics is a form of brain damage.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '"')Our class president was ex-military," Black said. "It slipped in."

From the article.

So the "reason" is ex military are unstable and fuck-ups...

Could not be the white collar non-military chief that approved the slogan.

Always a reason why us monkeys are such fuck-ups...and the reason is always blamed on another monkey.

Classic.

They couldn't protect and serve. That was too hard and too much of a stretch. They're being honest. Let's give them that.

I think I've got a case of pre-traumatic stress syndrome.

The more monkeys, the less likely the panther will get you.
So just be a common monkey and don't throw your poo and scream too much.

And finally, there will always be more monkeys than panthers.

The guys who made that slogan are just hiding in the monkey pack.

And a rule of thumb is:
If you can't seem to figure out who did something, you can bet the top monkey was involved, otherwise they would have nailed the perpetrators..

Thanks for the comic relief (I will ignore the serious side of that, yes I will). This thread was upsetting and I needed the laugh.
I think pre-traumatic stress syndrome is something JD and a lot of others are trying very hard to evade. I can't say that I blame them. Yeah, that's the serious side. Not very pleasant. That's why I want a time machine. But I think I'll change my signature line.

Damn, I LOVE that saying!

Causing plenty of death is better yeah, but you can't get 'em all.

Love it, love it, love it! :-D

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('roccman', 'F')reud said long ago us monkeys want and need to do bad things to other monkeys...

Freud may have been merely projecting his own disturbances onto humanity as a whole.

IMO, it is the culture that is the problem not some inborn desire for self-destruction (AFAIK, the religions that paint man as some fallen creature only started appearing around the start of agriculture, large cities, hierarchies, etc.).

You put two monkies in a tree together, they'll play, forage, probably get along fine. Stcik three-hundred monkies in the tree and yeah, you'll get problems. Personally, I'm amazed every day that people function as well as they do, no doubt the energy slaves help.

On topic, I think the slogan is quite repulsive and whoever coined it should lose his job and be shunned for any position of authority for life (or maybe put in a jail for a few months for some first-hand research in PTSD  ).

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('I_Like_Plants', 'D')amn, I LOVE that saying!
I'm assuming you are referring to the sun & chicken thing. I could be wrong but Bobby was/is very clever. Quite an enigmatic singer/poet. I like his new stuff. When my son and I went to see him in Oct. 2006, his performance of the old classics sucked, but the new stuff was great. It may not be dark yet, but I hope it never does get dark for Bobby.

OK, I was wrong, no biggie. But I wouldn't advocate causing others to suffer. That's not my style.

That's the difference between you and me. I'm all about making others suffer - not all others, but those who are out to harm me and mine, hell yeah. I want to make 'em suffer as much as possible, en route to making 'em dead.
