Life after death?

Unread postby Viper » Wed 22 Sep 2004, 14:58:01

I'm curious as to the opinions of the people on this board in regards to the biggest question of all. I suspect that people's beliefs about LAD (Life After Death) will affect their positions on Peak Oil, Iraq, TEOTWAWKI, etc.

You can't truly live life until you fear death no more.

At least we won't need oil on the other side... :)

You just turn into dust, all the minerals/nutrients you carried gets returned back to earth, and lifeforms go on.

Started out as star dust end up as worm food.
You observed it from the start
Now you’re a million miles apart
As we bleed another nation
So you can watch you favorite station
Now you eyes pop out your sockets
Dirty hands and empty pockets
Who? You!

I plan to live an indulgent and sinful life, and then right before I die, I'm converting to Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, and sun worship.

Also getting my head frozen...

And preserving DNA for future cloning.

And having children.

And astrally projecting my mind on a tour of the universe.

And living for infinity inside a single moment.

And a bunch of other stuff which makes me feel less mortal...

Then I'm gonna turn into dust :)
The problem is, of course, that not only is economics bankrupt, but it has always been nothing more than politics in disguise... economics is a form of brain damage.

We turn to dust and those atoms get recycled into the earths biosphere.

So really everything is a distraction to keep our minds occupied peak oil, rich, poor, christian, jew, islam it doesn't really matter except for the imaginary importance we attach to it.

I find credibility in the "we die, rot, and the rest of the world goes on" arguement.

After we die, the machines unplug us from the matrix. Then we are blended into a nutrient soup, which is added to the feeding system that ties into and sustains all the pods in the system.

I don't know what will happen to anyone else, but I will probably be physically recycled back to the Earth, while the more spiritual part of me will go somewhere REALLY nice. I'll stay there for a while but even Paradise can get a little boring. That's when I'll come back.

Regards,

L.

All praiseth the lord of chaos and randomness! For it has caused us to come forth from nothingness! :D

Granted, my religion sounds silly also. But surely something created life!?!

Are most of you so spiritually shallow?

Life after death. Do you believe?

Unread postby NevadaGhosts » Thu 03 Feb 2005, 18:50:22

I was wondering how many people here on this board believe in ghosts, spirits, and life after death in general. Very few, I would suspect... due to many people here with scientific backgrounds.

I have experienced many ghosts/spirits since I was about 15 years old. Everywhere I have lived things have happened. New and old houses. Didn't matter. Also, many friends and relatives of mine have seen/heard things too (we are mentally stable people). EVP is as close as we will ever get to actual proof of life after death. I have personally recorded many spirit voices using this technique. Sometimes had a few witnesses there during recording to verify that it wasn't faked. It'll make a believer out of you.

I think it was Einstein who said ' energy cannot be created or destroyed'. The human body is full of electrical energy that makes the mind and the rest of the body function.

I do.

I'm just not sure what form that may take.

I'm not even sure that the ego survives completely intact.

It's not a question of belief any more than belief in the existence of atoms. It's theoretical. Do you reject or accept the evidence that supports the idea that death is a false construct.

There is a large body of evidence to support the no death theory. Many of them conducted in the "laboratory" of the hospital setting, where heart surgeons have played unwitting shamans to the dead by shocking them alive, after death was established on the operating table. The "dead" claimed that while they were dead they were in another part of the hospital observing events, that were independantly verified later. At the very least, this shows you don't actually need a body to survive. (Which makes the idea of life and death seem a little limited). I know I can't wait to get rid of mine. It never worked properly anyway.
