Are you talking about the metal uranium, atomic weight 233+, or are you talking about the stuff that oozes out of Sjambok trees of South Central Africa after baboons use its long hard fruit for disgusting things........... What tree did you fall out of?

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Revi', 'I') just went to a meeting of truckers and it was pretty obvious that they wanted to scapegoat environmentalists and greenies. They want lower fuel prices and they feel that it's a big conspiracy. I think this guy speaks for a lot of people who are mad as hell. They don't know anything about peak oil, and yet they want to tell us why it's a bunch of bull.

Totally true. My father was the same way, spewing stuff just like this about how its a big conspiracy. Its easier to point a finger at someone and say ALL UR FAULT and riot then it is to accept that you are part of the problem and fundamentally alter your lifestyle.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('frankthetank', 'W')hats his screen name?

It was good to listen to this guy. He speaks for most people, like the truckers here in Maine who are really pissed that this resource isn't flowing like it used to. This guy is saying what the majority of people believe. The manna is being held up by the environmentalists in cahoots with the media and the Government. Tell me you haven't heard this same thing spouted in your town. Every once in a while you have to slander "Demokrats" or call somebody a liberal or a treehugger.

We have known about peak oil for years now. These people are only just starting to wake up from their petroleum induced coma. They are all angry as hell and they aren't going to take it anymore. They blame "big oil" and "speculators", and any politician or environmentalist that happens to be around.

The solution isn't conservation. The solution to them lies in blaming somebody and forcing the government to lower gas prices somehow. Good luck.

It wouldn’t be PO, per se, that unravels our civilization, it will be a lot of stupid, uninformed, TV brain drained people demanding that their inalienable right to privileged positions be maintained.

A stupid fat guy pontificating from a 'preachers bench' (why isn't he thin?), tells you all you need to know. -I hate ad hominim attacks, but in this case the ignorance and nonsense are so prolific, I can't resist.

Yes, I agree with most of the comments here about this idiot. As soon as an energy crisis hits, guys like him will scream even louder and start voting for people who pander to this myopic cretinism.

"There's plenty of oil out there, we just have to go get it. Crude should be made freely available to the market at a reasonable price, and no government or private entity should be permitted to withhold oil from the market. This policy should be enforced by force of arms if necessary."

The Carter Doctrine will become the Romney or Giuliani Doctrine. Hillary would probably go along with it too. Denial will fade in time when it becomes obvious that seizing oil fields results in no net increase in production. Lots of damage before that happens though.
