Half-Asleep... Poem?

Unread postby Opies » Mon 26 Nov 2007, 23:26:08

I don't know if I would call this a poem, but I managed to write down some random thoughts in waking moments as I faded in and out of consciousness in one of my classes today. I couldn't make out a lot of what I wrote because one's hand does not work very well when falling asleep. From what I managed to understand I pieced this together (I kept all original capitalization and punctuation as it might have been important:

Can't concentrate.
Concussive Consciousness.

let the curtains fall
let them envelop all

There is always safety inside,
with closed eyes

Ephemeral Reality
For safe sleep

We Trade.

Always.

your guess is as good as mine, but I like it for some reason and felt compelled...

I can't fault that. Sometimes I awake in the morning and the most inane song is playing over and over again in my head. Someday, heroic pentameter will revive. What will they be singing about?
