$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Bas', '')$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('lorenzo', 'I')t seems like both Peakoil.com and EnergyBulletin.net have peaked. Traffic has been consistently down throughout 2007, despite ever increasing oil prices.

it seems to correspond with the searchterm "peak oil" on google trends:

Yep, because it largely follows the same basic logic: the share of Peakoil.com / search term "peak oil" of all internet traffic / searches.

But this doesn't mean PeakOil.com isn't doing well.

Because we should correct these trends by looking at qualitative measures of internet traffic.

The number of "quick-visit" sites (like Youtube) as well as blogs and social networking sites has grown exponentially. Web 2.0 has grown tremendously over the past two years.

So Peak Oil's "peak" is actually not that dramatic.

But it will become harder and harder to get the message across through the galactic amount of noise that's piling up on the net.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('RacerJace', 'M')aybe many of the 'old hands' of peakoil.com are now well an truely into the acceptance phase of the grief process and have become spectators rather than those looking for answers and solutions.

It's still piling up, but I suspect eventually that trend will reverse. The following article is about that...

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('kmann', 'P')O.com is fast losing it relevance.

And you just noticed recently? I think part of the reason traffic is down is because peak happened and its consequences have been less than exciting.

It is becoming populated with 911 wackos, "uberdoomers", die off fantisizers, etc. Where did rockdoc go?

Making a mint producing $100 oil? Good for him...

I'm sorry, but the use of that traffic counter in no way is legit. Just because people don't use their search engine to find peakoil.com has nothing to do with it's utilization. If aaron posts numbers here saying we have falling off visits wise it's one thing. But it could simply be our members are smart enough not to use that search engine. Which frankly can't be that popular, as I've never even heard of it.

Maybe you should check again? This from the 20th:

Energy Bulletin and the Reality Report

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'B')art Anderson of Energy Bulletin recaps recent news related to resource depletion, climate change and more. In the past several weeks, with the rising price of oil, Energy Bulletin's readership has increased by over 40%.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('TheDude', 'H')einberg's posting here?

He could have contributed under alias in the past, but the point was that Heinberg is an open 9/11 truther, as many other scientists and experts..

The sad conformist outcome after few years, which many predicted, finally sets in, MOST of the population smell the "official account" of the event to be bullshit, many knew from the first minute that it is completely impossible. And the few actualy came 180° and realized they would do exactly the same were they given the enabling roles of Cheneys in this play etc.. You don't "manage" an empire in decline with gloves on, that's politics 101. The only problem is that next time they will use bigger calibre "tools"..
