Documentary: "The Battle For Oil" China vs US

Battle for Oil Absolutely great documentary film about the current fight over oil.

Explains why China is competitive, who are their target in the global search for the oil, what are they doing and what's their future plan for next several years, great travel around the world (Chad, Iran, Venezuela - Orinoco basin and so on). Pictures of shortages and queing in China included.
Peak oil is only an indication and a premise of limits to growth on a finite planet.
Denial is the most predictable of all human responses.

I enjoyed watching this, particularly getting "from the mouth" perspective from people from China, Venezuela, etc.

The queues for petrol in China would be enough to make an American's oily blood run cold. It's frightening to think about that happening here.

Yes, this is just great, you see different kind of investors.
And talks about Chad-Sudan tensions about Darfur are just unique. It is very rarely covered. I see value in it as many movies just don't care about it.

I think it may cause some shift, but look at the Chinese saying 'government should take care, it's their business'. I think it's quite universal thinking among average car drivers.

Thats exactly what pressure groups in the UK are beginning to do right now, blaming the government for recent price rises. I expect to see fuel protests of the like that brought the country to a standstill in 2000 in the next few weeks.
