It's precisely because a successful
rapid suicide deprives that economic system of it's opportunity for maximum capital extraction that such things are frowned upon (and in fact illegal).
On the other hand, it's perfectly fine (and legal) for you to commit suicide over a span of 30 or 40 years thru crappy diet, sedentary lifestyle, cigarette smoking and excessive alcohol consumption, precisely because such
slow methods of self immolation actually
increase the potential extractable capital compared to someone who lives a healthier lifestyle.
(sorry, I couldn't resist the alliteration).
