Freedom of speech

Just watch it

It's really short and scary. I just don't underestand it. I can't. There is more and more of this to come, what a fucked up world we live in.

This world is going straight to hell. That is a fucking disgrace. Everyone just stood and watched a student get treated like a criminal, no even criminals shouldnt be treated like that.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('kevincarter', 'I') just don't underestand it.

It's called "resisting arrest". Look it up.

There are probably 10 threads here on this.

Do you live in ridiculous fantasy world where psychos can disrupt the Q & A of a national political leader and NOT expect to get told to sit down by the cops?

TJ,

I hear ya. Someone had to shut him up.

What I can't figure out after watching the video a few times is why did FOUR cops (ok, campus police) have to resort to tasing the disturbed man. He wasn't exactly Charles Atlas. Two should have been able to place cuffs on him without very much trouble. Three should have been able to do it without breaking into a sweat. But there were FOUR! And they still tased him.

Anyhow, that's my only criticism

The question remains why was he arrested in the first place.

From my limited perspective, he appeared to have been warned several times that his time was up and to shut up. Plus, maybe others had questions too. Generally at these meetings one asks a quick question and then sits down because it's unkind and rude to monopolize things in a well-attended public forum.

This obviously disturbed man was taking over the forum and after repeated requests to stop kept on babbling.

Maybe disturbing the peace. Maybe interfering and obstructing an officer. I think a nice list of charges could be made without too much trouble or any trampling of rights.

Well I just don't get it, they cut off his mike, he stops talking and THEN they arrest him for... talking too much? Asking inconvenient questions? Wanting to leave once he couldn't talk anymore?

I like the "arrested for resisting arrest" thing, what was he beeing arrested for in the first place? Talking? Can a cop tell you to shut up in public? Isn't it kind of dangerous to let a bureaucrat decide who can or can't talk on public ground?

Expect this kind of situations when you are in a town meeting and they tell you that gas rationing is going to start tomorrow, or when they ask you to surrender all your guns just temporarly. THEN ask a question as "WTF is going on" > be told to shut up > don't > get arrested and then > teased.
