Garden Girl on National Broadcast Television!

Unread postby GardenGirl » Sun 28 Oct 2007, 15:07:34

Hey Peak Oil,

I have joined the national PBS show Farmer's Almanac TV! I will have my national debut in the spring of 2008. Farmers Almanac TV is carried by over 300 PBS stations nationwide, and I have joined them for season three, subscribe to my newsletter for behind the scenes stills and stuff.

Check out their website www.farmersalmanac.com. My first video is up for there, in the video player section. Please rate, comment, forward, post and share the video. I have shot another hundred hours of tape and new video's will get released there here is the first video:

Here is a link:

I bit off more than I could chew but this summer I shot over a hundred hours with segments like:

How to build a chicken tractor
Heirloom Tomato's
Indoor Gardening
Hoop houses
Goat Shearing
Poultry
Livestock
Urban Farmstand
and at least sixty other subjects I can't remember now.

My website is close to relaunching, here is a preview of what it will be soon:

Sign up for my newsletter at my old site www.gardengirltv.com and I will send you my back newsletters which have secret previews for a few other new video's as well cool still photo's and my near record tomato.

My company's new documentary Public Enemy: Welcome to the Terrordome will have it's world premiere at AFI 2007, come hang on the red carpet with me in November.

And last but not least. Thank you all. With your help I will be able to inform the world on how to prepare for the comming peak oil crisis in a way that makes them feel empowered and make a meaniful contribution to the environment in the process. I honestly believe that the Peak Oil community helped make all this possible and thank you.

Just watched a first clip, and DAMN your a hard working girl.
I mean, my wife does gardening, but nothing like that.
You mentioned lessening dependence on oil in the clip. Are you going to mention the PO word in the show?

Garden Girl, congratulations!

What do you think of vertical farming and fish towers?

And what do you think of Stalinism?

I think it's a fantastic way to get the word out, and get people gardening. Suburbanites are going to need to use that lawn if they want to keep eating. It is the one thing we can all do to make some of our own substenance. You go Garden Girl!

Micki- My goal is to sneak it in as much as possible. I assume it will get edited out at some level. My website, when it gets done, will say it clearly, and have more usefull information. The work has been in building the gardens the maintenance isn't so bad if you stay on top of it.

Lorenzon: Stalinizim? Collective farms? Too big for me. Verticle Farming is where it's at though.

American Dream: I will take corporate money, it is their greed that got is in this mess, so they can pay me to teach some ways out. I want my product to be free to the end user. I also plan on doing it in Spanish as well. My web portal will have to be sponser supported, but I will have editorial control.

Revi:If you search Garden Girl Titan TV you can see something I did that is called "Lawns to Edible Landscapes".

Here is a link for a video I made on my Garden Gnome:

How funny/amazing is that?
