PO.com moderators/proprietors -- thank you

Unread postby jdumars » Sun 21 Oct 2007, 23:05:16

I honestly don't know how Aaron and the moderators of this board do it... putting up with the endless complaining about virtually every facet of how discussions and board look/feel are maintained and improved. This is a completely free venue with virtually no overt advertising. It's rife with a wealth of information, and yes, experts on various topics. I am constantly worried that the endless string of ill-informed arguments, insults and ad hominem attacks hurled at people like Mr. Bill will cause them to cease participating. This would be a profound loss!

So, for my part, I would like to personally thank Aaron, the moderators and experts for continuing to participate in, improve and enrich the board. While sometimes I disagree with opinions and viewpoints expressed, you are all an incredible asset.

Thank you.

It is people like you who gave George Bush the go ahead and criticized people for speaking out against the president and his plans for an unjust war in Iraq. Mindless drivel, mindless support. You make me sick.

We all like having this forum, but part of good community is the ability to speak out when we think that something is wrong. If they listen or not though is a whole other story. But, people should feel like they matter and that their opinions matter or what kind of community can you have and how many people do you actually think would stick around if people like you constantly call them unpatriotic for having their own opinion.

I am not the greatest speaker, but I do know that this community is founded and supported by dissidents and people who have a mind of their own. If you want a community where everyone thinks exactly the same, I recommend you go join the fox news fan club forum!!!

Already said my thanks in the form of pay pal.

I would encourage all users of this site to kick in.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('jasonraymondson', 'I')t is people like you who gave George Bush the go ahead and criticized people for speaking out against the president and his plans for an unjust war in Iraq. Mindless drivel, mindless support. You make me sick.

wow.

And, what praytell did YOU do to try and avert the war?

Hmmm... let's see what I did...

...attended and organized protests
...turned my web page that gets over a million hits per day into a protest site, even though it cost me thousands of dollars in ad revenue
...petitioned local and national government
...wrote pieces for media and spoke to everyone I could

Your point, however badly written or hateful, is understood. And some people just don't seem to read posts before responding... :ahem:

Thanks Roccman for contributing financially. Incidentally, I also enjoy reading your posts. I thought *I* was quite a doomer until you came along. :)

Aye, wicked stuff - where's the pics of flutes, though? It's flutes for me - old wooden simple systems. Hard to carve much into ebony but in the old days they did some pretty serious ivory carving: http://www.mcgee-flutes.com/images/RR%20Ivory.JPG Not one of my own. A flute of mine is pictured on that site, however.

I do have my uncles's old Buescher bari. Was on a big saxophone kick a couple years ago and printed out something called the Saxophone Buyer's Guide - another jdumars project.
