Thank you Thank you.

There is nothing better in this life then to have absolutly no expectation made of you. This award assures me that no matter what I do or say people will expect nothing of me and that they can only be suprised by what I offer.

Jason , if village idiot is code for insightful , witty and enthusiastic then you deserve the title . And Threads is an expert and has earned the designation , even if the thing she's most expert at is being a sweet little sugar muffin.
Perhaps the population would be less swayed to socialism if we had fewer examples of socialism from our "Free Market Capitalists". -----fiddler dave

Remember the court jester. He gets to hang in the castle, eat the kings food, and when the king goes off to war, guess who gets to stay home to protect the harem?

So again: who is the smartest man in the kingdom?

I think the smartest guy in the kingdom doesn't actually exist. A figment of the collectives imagination. Present a guy who knows a little about something of which you have no clue, and this person will elevate to intelligent right before your eyes. Present a guy who can prove a little of what he knows and suddenly this guy is a genius and insightful individual.

Yet, this guy only knows a little about something, but he comes off as intelligent because he avoid topics of which he has no knowledge and only interjects when he has something worthwhile to add.

Some people though keep talking regardless of what they have to offer and know, but occasionally they release from their trap a seemingly insightful string of nonsensical bs that makes sense.
So now it seems that this person is perhaps more knowledgeable than previous thought.

Expert or Idiot? Really? is there a difference?

This was the big question that consumed the attention of many a hippie in the 60s.... Is it better to work your whole life and study hard and sit up straight and stand in line and become an "expert" or become "rich" or become "respectable" or is it better to just "drop out" and go surfing and do whatever the hell you want right now ane whenever you want and to hell with society and what other people think.....

Perhaps it is a generational thing but I have never understood the worldview that sees those as THE options. Why not find some good work (doing something that is truly helpful) and then live a good normal life? What is it about the 1960's generation that led them (leads them still) to think in extremes?

I got a nice hourly job. I got a nice little homestead. No extremes, just life.

Anyway congrats on the title I guess.

I wonder what I would have thought upon my first foray into this forum if there had been so many titles?

You see! The fool has beaten us all to the best role of the kingdom. Again then: who is the smartest of all?

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '
')"The Fool is the spirit in search of experience. He represents the mystical cleverness bereft of reason within us, the childlike ability to tune into the inner workings of the world. The sun shining behind him represents the divine nature of the Fool's wisdom. On his back are all the possesions he might need. In his hand there is a flower, showing his appreciation of beauty. He is frequently accompanied by a dog, sometimes seen as his animal desires, sometimes as the call of the "real world", nipping at his heels and distracting him. He is seemingly unconcerned that he is about to walk off the edge of a cliff, engaged in the supremest act of idiocy or trust.

The number 0 is a perfect significator for the Fool, which can become anything when he reaches his destination. Zero plus anything equals the same thing. Zero times anything equals zero"

In case you forget Bush can't be the villiage idiot because he is the decider and what kind of nation would put the villiage idiot in charge of deciding. No, it is obvious that he is a(n) expert.
