Doesn't that same stupid expression cross his face every thirty seconds or so? I think he is profoundly insecure. He ought to be, though, seeing as how he has the IQ of a gnat and is facing overwhelming crisis. Oh, yeah, in another recent post on this board somebody stated that demonstrably stupid (poor grammar etc) people are largely incapable of realizing they have been wrong and rate their poor performances highly. That stands in stark contrast to the truly intelligent, many of whom doubt themselves regularly.

WW III is coming. It will come as a surprise, even to many that post here. In retrospect, however, I don't suppose it will prove all that shocking to the posters at PO. There is way too much going on for a reader of PO to have covered it all. A little thing like the rise of Vladimir Putin goes almost unnoticed.
When it comes down to it, the people will always shout, "Free Barabbas." They love Barabbas. He's one of them. He has the same dreams. He does what they wish they could do. That other guy is more removed, more inscrutable. He makes them think. "Crucify him."

Well Adm. Mullen Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff says he can do the job link

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'U').S. military forces are capable of conducting operations against Iran if called on to bomb nuclear facilities or other targets, the new Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff said yesterday.
"From a military standpoint, there is more than enough reserve to respond if that, in fact, is what the national leadership wanted to do, and so I don't think we're too stretched in that regard," Adm. Michael Mullen told reporters when asked if current operations had worn out U.S. forces

eXpat,

I wonder what is going on at the Pentagon? The US military has never been so seemingly influencial. Even Westmoreland was presented as someone that carried out civilian orders, someone not involved in policy making. Bush has been deferring to his generals lately. This suggests a change in the US power structure except that dissenting voices at the Pentagon have been exorcized systematically in the past few years.

I don't count on the military to 'save' us from the mistakes of our leaders. I also don't think the best military minds are advancing to positions of influence anymore. I think the yes men are going to find that they have really cocked it up real soon and that, unlike in times past, there aren't any skilled people to turn to in the organization to fix the mistakes.

I have never seen a more irrelevant thread. Not one expert has posted. This is clearly a thread to not pay attention to.

I won't put any bets evilgenius in anything, I just hope that Iran is not attacked. What worries me is that if a casual perusal around many the threads here in PO.com shows how really screwed we are, I imagine that with the data and the info that TPTB have to make decisions (all that denied to us poor serfs) some may go for the: what the hell, lets do it... :(
