Videos of Use!

I think this should be a sticky personally. Video is a good way to get a lot of educational bang for your buck (money being time in this case ;)).

Sometimes I'll play stuff in the background while I do other things.

Every two to three weeks there are twenty new permaculture videos on youtube.

Whether "TSHTF" next Tuesday, next October, next decade, next century or never, eventually you're gonna die, so educate & enjoy yourself.

I read "Life After Life" by Raymond Moody a few years back. Whether you believe in his theories or not, I found it interesting that the top priorities of those who came back (were resurrected) were learning & love. Those seem like sensible choices no matter what the circumstance.

Please post old favorite or newly discovered video (or audio) links that you have found value from. :)

If there's already a thread like this feel free to merge.

I think it's a good idea, but you may want to think about moving the topic to the Planning forum. I think it would be better received there, as that's where most of the constructive stuff is happening.

I wish I could be constructive. I'd have a farm with horses to plow with. I'd be far from population centers. I'd already have years of experience with crops and livestock. I'd have an extended family that has long since rejected consumer culture. I'd have no illusions about the storm that's coming and none of us would. We'd have neighbors in every direction all on the same wavelength and equally prepared. We would all have sources of phosphorous and nitrogen fertilizers. We'd completely escape the attention of the diseased culture's authorities. We'd be calloused, experienced and ready to work. But I don't have that. sigh.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('SpringCreekFarm', '
')You won't have that sitting stuck in San Diego. Maybe it's best that those that are truly stuck just try to enjoy life where they are appreciating good movies, fine art, good booze, fantasizing about female members on peakoil.com, and playing word games as much as possible. I probably would too if I were stuck in San Diego. Cheers PMS. :)
Thanks! yep. no where to go. The idea of ecovillages seems absurd to me. The scenario I described is the one that might work and I would venture to say that it doesn't exist anywhere and not in Ontario either. That's why I say somebody give me a time machine. It's there in the past. (btw, I don't fantasize about the female members of peakoil.com - flirt, sure, but there's a difference.) :-D
