Questions You Should Ask a Bank Before Depositing your $$

Unread postby pedalling_faster » Thu 04 Oct 2007, 13:25:39

Bank of America has sent me a telegram telling me that it's not wise to keep my money with them. (actually it was a very creative service fee.)

so, i want to Flee with my Money.

i hear some people saying, "get a savings account with a local credit union".

in terms of looking for a bank that has a good chance of surviving medium-extreme economic contractions, what are good questions to ask ?

1. reserve requirements & practices.

what is normal, what is prudent ?

anyway, i'm looking for a few good questions to ask a credit union / local bank before transferring funds there.

thanks a lot for the info.

What portion of your holdingings are invested in MBS(mortgage backed securities).

Also, what lending guidelines have they been using these last few years with regard to home equity and mortgages held on balance sheet. If it's anything more risky than 20% down, 37% total income to loan payment, then you are taking a risk.

Convert your money to gold and then bury it in your backyard

Make a treasure map in case you forget where you put it and mail it to me for safe keeping.

Buy only 1/4 ounce coins, you can swallow those before you head for the hills.

and if you are with people you can bury it unsuspectingly by taking a dump

mark the tree well.

Cats know all the tricks.

If you are one that will rise up to take back merca, I would swallow a bunch of them just before you do the rising, so you can have them in the concentration camps, because they would be good for bribing guards. If you set off a metal detector, tell them you have surgical metal in you. (Gold is used in dental surgery)

You won't plug your bowel with 1/4 ounce coins, I think the record is like 40 pounds of pins and needles before a guy obstructed and died (He was a bit looney)

It's nice to have loonies in the game.

They(we) add interest.

An with regard to the topic:

I'm not concerned with asking much of my bank other than keep my fees low. I don't keep much cash or savings. I left that plan behind a ways back.

Stop filling dumpsters, as much as you possibly can, and everything will get better.

Just think it through.
It's not hard to do.
