Sure, you can have Monte's position. That boy is so flighty and quits every other month, so he shows no sign of stability.

I was thinking about offering my services as a mod. I am a fair and reasonable, but I am afraid everyone here thinks I am nuttier than a fruitcake.

But I am up on resource depletion and am working a degree in chemistry.

The poll results are not going well, Rocc.

(BTW, if I had a mouthful of something when I read Lore's post, I would also need a new keyboard.)

Yeah - I am thinking that Lore post sent things sideways...I really need to watch my humor round here...

I am pretty sure that if I could leave the vote open to only the mods...things would be much more in my favor... ;)

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('pstarr', 'y')ou have a caustic wit but you know squat about petroleum.

maybe in the flame section? or the Spears/Hilton debate?

Well Pstarr - been readin almost non-stop about PO for nearly 5 years...been in an energy related field for 15 years...be in Vernal next week to talk with Haliburton, XTO, EOG, Fly'n J, Newfield, and Berry about punching another 5K holes in the Uintah Basin...

What is there to know about oil...ELM says in 7-12 years we are toast...Cantarell in 7 years will be dry...Ghawar and URR of 260B is a lie and KSA is likely siphoning 1mb/d from Iraq...Tar sand takes 750CF of Nat gas to make one 42 gallon barrel plus fresh water...and will only ever output 3-5 million b/d (best case) - by the way NG is about to dive off the cliff -...Shell and Exxon in Parachute and in Vernal can't get shale to be positive...punching a hole 26K feet for Thunder Horse is a sign of just how desperate we are...

What is it you would like to know about me and how I know dick about oil...??

Ayoob is right...PO is a has been...we know within 5 years what is ahead of us...no oil...no food = die off. Those who don't know don't care and if they would care it is too late.

What Pstarr would you like for me to tell you that would enlighten you that, in fact, I am very well versed in oil...truth is...PO is a bore.

I hope you voted for me to be a mod ;)

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('pstarr', 'I')f you know so much and peak oil is such a bore, why are you here now?

I count at least 23 forum topics...each of which have thousands of posts from those brave enough to express their opinions, fears, ideas, suggestions, happy chapters, sad chapters, reviews, and notions about all facets of human's journey on a blue rock.

It is a never ending story...a never ending dialouge among cyber people.

This has value for me...it takes me out of my fish bowl and into another. It expands my worldview.

PO is but one small facet of my experience in this conversation. And frankly...it has become a bore...

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('AirlinePilot', 'k')adoomsoon,

I asked a basic question. What do you believe happened? Predictably I got the standard answer. You first label me, innacurately I might add, then announce that there are "those who know", and fail to come up with some plausible scenario which fits your "billowing cloud of vaporized steel and concrete" theory.

Your whole theory on pilots is basically wrong, especially fighter pilots. You need to do some reading about that. Training is rigid to be sure, but the rest of your conjecture is off the mark.

Please notice how so far I have not labeled you nor insulted you. I only have asked you to provide an explanation. We do not need to resort to character analysis, asassination, or labeling in order to do that.

It actually helps your credibility to avoid it. I fail to see why truthers do not grasp this whenever we get into discussion on any of this.

This thread is about me becoming a mod.

Mods could you flush all this 9-11 shit from my thread.

It's a well-known axiom that if you stay on the Internet long enough, you'll end up in a lesbian chat-room.

Likewise... discussions about "I wanna be a Mod" always end up as a 911 thread.

There is no spoon.

I rest my case.

You don't happen to have the internet address of this lesbian chatroom do ya? I'm ....ummm ... planning to do a research piece on it .

Rocc , what's the attraction to becoming a mod ? seems to me your volunteering for self-censorship . I don't think you could post half the things you post if you were a mod . Too many people would complain . Level-headed fairness and a touch of objectivity are what's required , not two of the subjects in which your well-versed. God bless your angry self.
Perhaps the population would be less swayed to socialism if we had fewer examples of socialism from our "Free Market Capitalists". -----fiddler dave

Per Roccman's request, I have split the 9/11 discussion posts off to this thread.

Please continue that debate there and reserve this thread for continued discussion of whether or not Roccman should be a mod.

Thank you.

it's part of the lifestyle and has a name: DIS-REALITY.

Regardless roccman I enjoy you intentional self-referential post-modern cluelessness. It is so very stoned. [smilie=5squeeze.gif]
