This graph paints a troubling picture of the powerful entrenched interests that own these marketed as independent

News sources and opinion makers. Are they really independent – or are they left gate keepers working for the elites who are their primary funding sources?

That chart is reasonably good showing all the gatekeepers front groups.

If it only it were that simple Rocc. Unfortunately it's much more complicated than that. Ask any lobbyist or politician and they'll tell you.

I've never heard of any of those publications.

How much does 5 million really buy? Consider, that is less than Ron Paul has raised in this election cycle, yet nobody seems to give a damn about him. Or consider that 5 million only pays for 40 minutes of the Iraq war.
