Peak Oil Sunday Chat

Unread postby mmasters » Thu 20 Sep 2007, 16:16:07

Hey all, I was thinking we should have a scheduled Peak Oil Sunday chat time. In case yall didn't notice Aaron put up a chat website for us - http://www.peakoilchat.com

So I'm tossing out there every Sunday at 4pm EST is our official weekly Peak Oil chat time. So come together, meet regulars, non regulars alike and discuss topics concerning and surrounding peak oil. Maybe we can get some special guests too from time to time.

Feel free to bump this thread prior to the next Sunday chat.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding your concept but don't we already have it when we want it 24/7 ? Maybe your talking about something different ?

I gotcha . Sounds good but it seems whenever I log on there's people to write and talk to , like now fer instance , me and the M&M havin' some discourse about further discourse , dig it . AND.... I KNOW when MY favorite peeps are gonna' be on and adjust my schedule accordingly , PLUS.... sunday afternoon is family or football time. Dear God I spend too much time here ... someone help me.

4PM EST?

I'll be working this Sunday afternoon but can probably make it a different Sunday and would be curious to see a transcript. :)

The diff between 'chat' and 'shit' is that one is 'real time participation' and the group are ALL present in the now. The current forums allow us to post our shit to be read whenever.

You should join in. Starting to get some more regulars in chat now..

Oh you mean like this? I think people are disgusted with your govt. not the people of the U.S.

"Recognize that the republic is dead, and that we owe its rotting bloated corpse no loyalty whatsoever.

This done, act accordingly. Publicly and privately, we should observe the corpse as a public nuisance, a pollutant both aesthetically and materially. When the yellow brick road leads us to the grand doors of government services, we should not avert our gaze but instead pull back the curtain, grandly, loudly, with the contagious laughter of a child, or the righteous anger of a soldier back in pieces from a war, like most wars, that was from the beginning a brutal political lie."

They were laughing at America, and talking about how it is the biggest joke in the world. The country that had everything and that is now falling apart, because americans are fat, lazy, and stupid.

I believe this is an actual quote

We have a page where logs can be read, unfortunately due to a trivia bot I had in there, some of the days are horribly hard to read. I have since moved that activity to another dedicated channel to keep the main one clean.

Yesterday was good, had lots of new visitors in from a wikipedia referral. We also just implemented a feature where when users post links in the channel, they get grabbed and posted to the peakoilchat website. Reason being it's a nice easy way for someone to browse the topics and links of interest of recent interest easily!

The 25th isn't posted yet for some reason, here's the 24th in case anyone wants to check it out.
