UAW Strike

Unread postby Minvaren » Mon 24 Sep 2007, 14:03:05

Well, as lots of news articles indicate (including this one), the UAW went on strike an hour or two ago.

Thoughts? Predictions? Concerns?

In general, I think this will be another piece of ammo in the "anti-union" mantras being repeated. While the strike is based upon health care and job security primarily, I don't think the unions fully acknowledge the precarious state of their employers right now.

Time will tell which side caves to get a new agreement going.

Considering most workers don't have the same generous benefits I think most people don't really care if they lose these benefits.

I hope many of them that lose benefits are believers in the market :)
