The super-rich get richer, and richer, and richer

Unread postby Zardoz » Fri 21 Sep 2007, 14:55:36

The New Gilded Age, indeed:

$1 billion no longer enough to make rich list - Cost to get on list of Forbes 400 richest Americans is now $1.3 billion

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'O')ne billion dollars is no longer enough. The price of admission to this, the 25th anniversary edition of the Forbes 400, is $1.3 billion, up $300 million from last year. The collective net worth of America’s plutocrats rose $290 billion to $1.54 trillion.

Wall Street led the charge, despite this summer's market jitters. Nearly half of the 45 new members made their fortunes in hedge funds and private equity. Money manager John Paulson joins the list after pocketing more than $1 billion short-selling subprime credit this summer.

Not bad for a summer job, Johnny!

I'm in the wrong line of work...

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('zensui', 'e')ven not giving away the next millions after $100 million is sick.

Why give it away? Why not save it and employ people and make others rich? Or why not save it and compound it so you can give even more away in the future?

Giving money to a poor person is like giving crack cocaine to a drug addict.

It doesn't help them in anyway at all.

As the LORD said, if you want to be charitable you don't give them a fish you teach them how to fish.

There are some mega rich that don't even make the list such Rothschild because their wealth is hidden and protected. The Rothschild fortune is estimated to be greater than all the Forb's 400 put together. With a slightly lesser fortune is Rockefeller and other members of the Bilderberg group. These are the true masters of the world and the true powers that be. They start the wars and get richer off them.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Novus', 'T')here are some mega rich that don't even make the list such Rothschild because their wealth is hidden and protected.

That's incorrect. The reason why the Rothschilds don't appear on this particular Forbes list is because it's a list of the 400 richest Americans.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'T')he Rothschild fortune is estimated to be greater than all the Forb's 400 put together.

LOL. Source?

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'W')ith a slightly lesser fortune is Rockefeller and other members of the Bilderberg group.

You obviously have no clue what you are talking about. David Rockefeller is ranked 149 in America with a net worth of $2.7 billion.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'T')hese are the true masters of the world and the true powers that be. They start the wars and get richer off them.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('pstarr', 'O')ilIsBlustery, you certainly are knowledgeable about the super rich. Got lots of friends at the golf course? Do you perhaps believe your suck-up defense of them on this invisible little forum will be noted?

I am perfectly aware of the official statistics. Who owns the Federal Reserve and the $9 Trillion the US government owes it? Who can reduce the value of $100 billion to that of less than a penny.

The US government doesn't owe a dime to the Federal Reserve. The US government owes $9 trillion to the owners of it's Treasury securities.

I am reading a good book entitled "Bushwacked" and in one chapter it goes into "rich" detail of how the rich have gotten ridiculously richer and the poor poorer with those things you call "facts" and "proof".....

Once I am done I will write a review and summize that particular section with a grand post to settle this once and for all.

To pretend that they do not believe in the redistribution of wealth is the biggest lie of them all. They do believe and they believe that it all should be redistributed into the hands of the elite which is reflected in the policies they have set into place to accomplish this goal.

I hope that it gets so much worse to the point that one day the average person will no longer be able to deny it, that 99.9999% of us realize we are slaves and that there is only one way to correct this situation. I hope this occurs before I die. I would be proud to join you comrades in taking the neccessary steps to correct such an abuse of power.

That could be the most ridiculous lie you've ever told cockspit123, you may know the technical definition of the word sympathy but you have never experienced or extended it.

Overturn the Federal Reserve Act or go down in flames.

J.F.K. did that and was dead 3 weeks later. Funny isn't it.
