Wait till tomorrow to see who else is in and what the format will be.I don't want someone like offshore sticking something in just to fuck it up . What should it be about ? Who are the characters ? Should the writers be characters? You know who were the best writers and who kinda threw weird stuff in better than me , you figure out who should write , or should it be come one come all? I'll leave it up to you to decide that stuff since my memory sucks. I think it should be a chapter a day if a lot of people work on one story or work at your own pace if say for instance four people work on four different stories at once.Who were the the regular writers back then?Who were the best?

Chaparelle made the thread. I just butchered something together to try and keep the posts going now and again.

Here's my poetic call to address peak oil by building local resilience and reduce carbon emissions in the face of climate change.

It's a limerick, btw.
----------------------------------------------
Because growth economics backfired
Relocalisation's required
Heal the trees and the soil
Yearn for life beyond oil
And get yourself thoroughly Gaia'ed
----------------------------------------------
I won a course worth $2000 with this! Most productive bit of writing I've ever done.

Nope, have not posted any of my own, no time these days, maybe someday. See the link, maybe it was that.

Anyway, we need to differentiate between PO Poetry and PO Drama. This here's the Poetry thread. Here is the drama you speak of:

ZORT

I double dare someone to pick it up again. There was some fine work done on that piece and it was very loose, which was great. Remember, jboogy, you can't trap the river in a bucket.

Why DID PMS keep sabotaging the thread?

Who was that girl that wrote a poem or 2 ? She asked everyone to tell her how they liked it and said she'd write more.Memory stinks.
I like that "can't trap the river in a bucket" , your probably right , best to just let it happen on it's own in whatever form it chooses.

Are you kidding? I couldn't sabotage that thread even if I tried. I had my own character bumped off and somebody returned me as a floating glowing skull. What could I do? I put holographic projectors in the eye sockets and presented messages from the future. Did anybody listen? No.

God Bless Halliburton

Halliburton, my love,
Oh how I adore thee.
You aren't just a U.S. based
pressure pumping company anymore.

Second in revenue in the Eastern hemisphere.
You moved to Dubai.
Now the Democrats can't steal from you.
But you can have all the Iraqi oil that belongs to us.

The End.

Ode To Halliburton

Earl, you are the man,
You had the biggest balls in history.
What would the world be without you?
Well stimulation technology
is the only way we can steal Iraqi oil.
Without you America would be nothing.
God bless.

Here's a couple peak oil haikus of my own:

Need more heating oil?
Doctor Evil said it all
We're friggin' freezing here

Gasoline supplies
Insufficient nowadays
Good-bye, SUV's!

Not poetry, a song instead. I wrote this 2 to 3 months BEFORE I learned of Peak Oil and this website. It is inaccurate and I laugh at myself now, but the point is still there.

We've been using it since the 50's but the oil is almost gone
Like a bunch of heroin addicts, trying to get our fix by dawn
Pretty soon the sun will rise and we'll all see what we've done

We'll have to take to walking pretty soon if we're to get around
Because their ain't no more oil oozing up from the ground
You know it probably won't hurt if we Americans lose a pound

The price of unleaded at the pump is $2.18
oh, oh, on Gas-O-Line

You can go here to here more. Its song number 8.

Further Praise Of Halliburton

Halliburton, O Halliburton,
If only Homer and Shakespeare were alive today
to sing your praises.

You are number one or two in every market in the world.

Where have you gone O Halliburton?
To Dubai, the land of the camel jockeys and ak-47s.

May you suck Iraq dry forever.

Heil Halliburton!

PMS loved girls who are students
and then the world ran out of oil
it wasn't prudent
to love your student'
even from afar
thats why the cops foiled
the nature of the beast
of peak oil in a toil
aka the little girl in a tin foil
hat
in the cat
it wasn't a blast to love the student in a hat
no matter how much she looked good in
a skirt

Halliburton My Lord

Halliburton, my Lord,
Command me!

My loyalty is to you and to you alone.
I have sworn an eternal blood oath
to serve you for eternity.

Do not let the students discourage you.
They are called students for a reason.
They have much to learn about oilfield services.
But you know all.

Your technology is second to none.

Heil Halliburton!

Sonnet To Halliburton

Dearest Halliburton,
You are all that matters in this world.
I would sacrifice a million Iraqs for your profits.
If only you keep rewarding us.

They cry blood for oil.
I would give all my blood so that you can have oil.

You are my Master!
Life is nothing without you.

I used to work for them. It's a hard nosed business. I've seen them face hard times before, but it's nothing like the ass fucking that lies ahead.
