I did wonder what the collective noun for hurricanes was. A flurry of hurricanes. I shall have to remember that!

Fortunately, it's a collective noun that is very rarely used.

When they had that press conference after the New Orleans 'H' (Clinton, Bush, & - 'Daddy, you're standing on my foot' - Bush) I was trying to figure out what the collective noun was for a group of US Presidents. A Lecture? a Podium? A Chorus? Very confusing (grin)...

Nah, a 'murder' is definitely the collective for crows. Besides crows are quite effective in a group wheras US presidents aren't.

Maybe, 'Flurry', a 'Fluster' a...a...a...

I've got it!!!!!

It is a 'Bother' of Presidents. That's it. Definitely a Bother. No other word will do. What d'ya think, guys?

Nope, Kunstler is all over that one, so it's meaning has become proprietary.

I looked up the thesaurus for "lie"

Main Entry: lie
Part of Speech: noun
Definition: untruth
Synonyms: aspersion, backbiting, calumniation, calumny, complete distortion of the facts, corker, deceit, deception, defamation, detraction, dishonesty, disinformation, distortion, evasion, fable, fabrication, falsehood, falseness, falsification, falsity, fib, fiction, fish story, forgery, fraudulence, guile, hyperbole, inaccuracy, invention, libel, mendacity, misrepresentation, misstatement, myth, obloquy, perjury, prevarication, revilement, reviling, slander, subterfuge, tale, tall story*, terminological inexactitude, vilification, white lie*, whopper

I highlighted the ones that I think descibe a gathering of presidents.. I like a "falsehood" of presidents the best

Here are a few more collective terms you may be instinctively familiar with.

A uselessness of politicians
An embarrassment of Hollywood stars
An abortion of civil servants

Not to be a killjoy on the "collective" terminology... but is there any further word on the original topic of this post? i.e. is the "flurry" of developing systems continueing to develop?

I think that should be a 'fury' rather than a 'flurry'. 'Flurry' sounds a bit too, well, snow-flakey for me.

As you were (grin).
